Qualifications

Requires 10 to 12 years with BS/BA or 8 to 10 years with MS/MA or 5 to 7 years with PhD.
  • This position requires verification of US Citizenship
  • 3+ years of experience in outdoor, over-the-air, testing of complex RF systems
  • BS/BA, MS/MA, Ph.D. or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a related relevant field
  • Ability to obtain a SECRET security clearance
  • Strong written and spoken communications/presentation skills

Responsibilities

The candidate will be responsible for integrating, testing, and demonstrating novel wireless technologies in representative test environments on and off of Government test facilities. Familiarity with instrumenting complex outdoor demonstrations of advanced wireless technology and coordination of complex teams to achieve test objectives is desirable, as well as familiarity with RF propagation, antennas, and spectrum coordination. You will work with teams to develop test plans to gather and analyze experimental data, researching concepts and developing cutting edge solutions to complex problems. You will also be required to communicate the results of research through customer presentations and publications. Must work well collaboratively and individually. The successful candidates will have a wide breadth of technical skills and a desire to contribute to multiple program areas.

Main responsibilities include:
  • Working with wireless subject matter experts to plan, implement, and interpret results from complex field experiments involving novel wireless equipment on 10s of moving ground vehicles, UAVS, and other aircraft. Coordination of teams to prepare for, execute, and complete tests.
  • Interfacing with appropriate authorities to obtain authorization to operate in Government and non-Government test locales, including, obtaining spectrum authorization, obtaining authorization to operate air vehicles, and as well as other logistics required to successfully complete testing.
  • Designing and implementing systems to instrument tests including systems for recording ground-truth, remote control, telemetry, and communications. Integration of systems on ground and air vehicles.
  • Writing design documents, simulation and test reports, and system documentation.
