Responsibilities

The individual provides System Administration support to the Joint Staff Support Center (JSSC) in the Pentagon. The individual will implement, manage, and maintain Windows computing environments and provide Windows systems administration for all JSSC supported systems. The individual will perform administration activities including account management, performance tuning, monitoring and management of resources, monitoring and auditing logs, administering and performing backup and recovery operations, identifying, testing, upgrading, and installing new software patches and releases, identifying/resolving problems, maintaining and performing continuity of operations actions, ensuring databases meet and maintain security compliance. The candidate will install, configure, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot various Microsoft Windows versions and virtualization platforms.

The role includes systems and application administration. The candidate will perform system and application administration activities including account management, monitoring and management of system resources, administering and performing backup and recovery operations, identifying, testing and installing new application software patches and releases, identifying/resolving problems on the systems, configuring new hardware, applying firmware patches, maintaining and performing continuity of operations actions, ensuring systems meet and maintain security compliance, maintaining Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), DoD and DISA requirements for system uptime, availability and storage management as necessary. The candidate will identify, test, install, and manage operating systems, COTS and GOTS software upgrades and patches and IAVAs in a timely manner consistent with security, IA, and established change control requirements.

Qualifications

Experience/Skills Required:
- Related IT degree with 5-10 years technical experience
- COMPTIA Security+ Certification (or higher 8570 certification)
- Clearance Requirements: Must have a minimum DoD Top Secret clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI clearance.
- Windows server and enterprise domain knowledge and active directory knowledge and experience
- Industry standard certifications preferred in primary functional area of expertise, or equivalent level of experience in Windows administration, installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance.
