TheVice President of Dental Network Advancement for UnitedHealthcare Specialty Benefits drives innovative and takes a market-leading approach to dental provider network partnerships, targeting top tier competitive industry standing.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for recruitment and retention of dental providers nationally to create a network offering with top-tier access and financial competitiveness
  • Responsible for continual improvement of network discount position, operational cost management and other affordability initiatives in order to meet annual organizational target
  • Oversight for Network Advancement team, with national accountability for recruiting, contracting and credentialing targeted dental providers across Commercial, Medicare, Private Label and Medicaid segments
  • Monitor dental industry trends to develop strategies for approaching provider recruitment, particularly in a more virtual setting
  • Create unique approaches to provider contracting to meet market demands such as value-based contracts, telehealth and mobile capabilities, and other incentive-based programs
  • Develop strong relationships with UnitedHealthcare's Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid leadership in segments to establish and continue to manage recruitment priorities
  • Overall management of all leased network and dental services organization (DSO) recruitment and negotiations, with a focus on continuing to drive higher care delivery performance from these partnerships
  • Support Commercial sales and account management customer opportunities through targeted recruitment efforts and attending internal and external meetings
  • Collaborate with Network Provider Solutions team on continued Provider NPS improvementsthrough quarterly advisory meetings with key provider stakeholders, provider surveys, provider education and provider service improvements
  • Oversight for all reporting and analytics to senior leadership teams, to show continued progress against national targets in network growth, discount improvement, affordability measures and overall health of the network
  • Close collaboration with Clinical team to review provider impact from Utilization Management, Payment Integrity, Provider Scorecard Provider Quality, and Fraud Waste and Abuse initiatives
  • Responsible for vendor relationships by identifying resource needs, developing business case, negotiating rate and terms, and monitoring performance
  • Develop strong relationships with and represent the Dental organization through external partnerships with the NADP, ADA, and various other organizations
  • Autonomous, executive-level leader
  • Key decision maker for dental network recruitment resources, staffing decisions, and investment prioritization
  • Own Dental Network Advancement segment budget and all associated management and stewardship

Required Qualifications:
  • 10+ years in the dental industry experiencewith multiple stand-alone and integrated carriers
  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale recruitment efforts for fee schedule and access improvement
  • Experience leading process improvement efforts at scale - planning skills, information management, resilience and comfort with ambiguity are critical
  • 5+ years in leading and building large and diverse teams, network development, vendor contracting and oversight, operations, servicing and reporting
  • 5+ years working in a highly matrixed leadership environment
  • Strong executive leadership presence and ability to communicate goals along with coordination across all leased partners, key DSOs, and external organizations
  • You will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's US Telecommuting Policy.
