**This position will report to the I&I Regional President, North America.**



**ROLE SUMMARY**

As a member of the North America Inflammation and Immunology Leadership Team, this role is responsible for setting and executing the US marketing strategy for Xeljanz, including Xeljanz RA, Xeljanz UC and Xeljanz PsA . This individual will be charged with leading the development and execution of the operating plan including management of brand performance while also setting the course and implementing the action plan for lifecycle evolution.



**Key Role Dimensions:**

1. Span of Control: Approx. 10 direct reports and collaborations with cross functional team.

2. Direct the investment of up to $300M in spend to match a revenue trajectory growing from $1.1B to $3B.

3. Number of total colleagues in organization: Approx. team of 20, with oversight of a cross-functional team of over 100 colleagues.



+ Covering 3 distinct therapeutic areas across rheumatology and gastroenterology specialties

+ Serve as internal and external face of Pfizer to industry and association groups with the goal of representing Pfizer's commitment to addressing healthcare goals and solving for unmet patient needs.

+ Partner with Global Marketing, Commercial development, and Business Development organizations to influence the development of lifecycle and pipeline investments



**RESPONSIBILITIES:**

The leader will maintain and nurture a positive and proactive interaction among the marketing teams, other functional teams, and strategic partners (e.g. agencies, alliance organizations, customers as applicable) to ensure cooperation, shared responsibility in commercialization activities, and ultimately business performance.



**The leader will need to build/demonstrate/execute the following:**



+ Strong FF relationships in order to find ways to sustain customer and field engagement - with motivation, focus and clarity.

+ Classical brand marketing expertise across HCP, payer, and patient marketing with experience applying traditional and innovative levers to grow customer and patient appreciation of differentiation and build brand loyalty in a highly competitive category.

+ Analytic and strategic thinking to lead evaluation and prioritization of investment options - including SI&A, new formulations, lifecycle planning, and LOE preparations.

+ Strong ability to prioritize and empower team member decision-making to effectively execute business plans and manage product performance

+ Partner with other leaders across the BU's to grow the next generation of marketing leaders



**Additional Responsibilities:**



+ Accountable for US net sales of between $2 and $3B, by transforming existing treatment paradigms and directing marketing expenses and sales activities.

+ Act as the single point of accountability for the development and operationalization of cross functional 3 year strategic and 1 year tactical plans for Xeljanz to maximize performance relative to revenue, IBT, and expense goals

+ Work in close collaboration with finance and business analytics and insights to develop brand revenue forecasts, track brand performance and of key drivers

+ Oversee the development & advancement of relevant insights for integration into brand plans

+ Prioritize and direct execution of key brand strategies within the team, ensuring that developed strategies/tactics are implemented and drive the maximum value for the brands

+ Oversee development of launch readiness plans for lifecycle indications

+ Build strong relationships within the academic specialty and advocacy communities that establish Pfizer as a market leader and important stakeholder

+ Support all aspects of commercial planning including providing commercial input into regulatory submissions, lifecycle plans, and global marketing strategies.

+ Shape the market for Pfizer's Xeljanz and pipeline I&I kinase inhibition assets

+ Ensure a collaborative working environment with partner functions including, but not limited to medical, sales, finance, corporate communications, regulatory, legal, and manufacturing

+ Manage talent within team, including talent planning, succession planning and colleague coaching & development; foster team effectiveness and cohesion to achieve business goals



**QUALIFICATIONS:**



+ 15+ years of marketing or other relevant pharmaceutical and healthcare experience

+ Launch experience

+ Previous brand team leadership is preferred

+ Previous experience with DTC marketing is preferred

+ Previous US in-market experience is preferred

+ Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree preferred.

+ Financial acumen with P&L experience and ability to manage expenses, conduct prioritization and trade off analyses, and set and meet aggressive performance targets

+ Broad knowledge of the pharmaceutical and healthcare landscape

+ Demonstrated high level change agility, able to act nimbly and redirect efforts based upon real time in-market learnings

+ Demonstrated strong strategic/analytic skills in order to help set brand strategy, team priorities

+ Demonstrated success in influence/negotiation; able to build and maintain productive/collaborative relationships with internal and external business partners

+ Strong communication skills, ability to mobilize key stakeholders, engage senior leadership

+ A commitment to excellence - in results achieved and the manner in which they are received.
