The Vice President (VP) of Risk Adjustment Support is responsible for strategic leadership, direction and Risk Adjustment operational support to the WellMed enterprise, supported markets as well as external Care Delivery Organizations (CDO) in which we conduct business. Critical to the VP role is fostering relationships, driving overall performance, leading strategic planning, managing operations through a matrix team, and leading strategic initiatives that will focus on risk adjustment improvement. The VP will lead the teams to achieve the organizational vision, mission and goals by encouraging innovation and risk adjustment improvement practices and provides long-term planning and oversight ensuring the appropriate integration of activities into strategic direction of the enterprise.

 

 


The VP will be responsible for driving Enterprise initiatives, manage project time lines and capital budget, while leading others to make meaningful process improvements.  The VP will work collaboratively with OptumCare and WellMed organizations in deploying key initiatives and delivering on project and process improvement activities while operating within the values of the organization and complying with legal and regulatory requirements.

 

 


This position will report to the Senior Vice President, Risk Adjustment and will be responsible for driving and implementation of Risk Adjustment programs across the WellMed enterprise as well as external CDOs. 


 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide long-range planning and oversight of Risk Adjustment Support operations, DataRAP technology and technical resources ensuring the DataRAP application is in alignment with the vision of the organization and CMS requirements
  • Supervises collaboration efforts with IT to develop technical solutions that will result in accurate and efficient data collection, data management, and data reconciliation related to risk score data processing
  • Interacts with executive leadership and major stakeholders to establish strategic plans and objectives for programs or projects. Consults with business partners to clarify and define complex project requirements, budgets and business cases, including statements of work
  • Act as a strategic thought leader for enterprise initiatives, collaborating closely with WellMed and OptumCare executive leaders
  • Closely monitor project resources, tasks, risks and milestones and when necessary forecast impact on schedule, quality, and cost and make course corrections using defined change control procedure
  • Lead efforts to identify solutions (including scope, schedule and budget) through collaboration, creation of business cases, project plans, ROI calculations and revenue tracking for large initiatives for subsequent for presentation to executive leadership
  • Create, maintain and improve support infrastructure and parameters for risk adjustment programs while managing cross-functional work stream strategies and plans
  • Develop and execute communication to internal and external stakeholders related to Risk Adjustment Support strategies and implementation plans
  • Lead the oversight of all vendor relationships, negotiations ensuring contractual and performance standards are met
  • Oversee the partnership and collaboration with the DataRAP leadership team to coordinate education for all markets providers and staff to ensure compliance with DataRAP and Risk Adjustment processes
  • Develop and govern the annual budget and implements plans to achieve budgetary goals. Advise other partner CDOs on recommended budget considerations as relates to program needs
  • Oversee the execution of a robust and effective professional development program for subordinates through effective identification and utilization of internal and external training opportunities
  • Spearhead efforts through a full range of human resource activities to execute and oversee the annual performance review program that identifies high potential performers for succession planning purposes

This is an office-based position, Oaks IV, 78249 / Office park located at IH 10 East and De Zavala Road/Occasionally travel in and/or out-of-town as deemed necessary
