The Vice President, Payer Market Provider Enablement Leader will manage the ideation and innovation of our Provider Enablement strategy for health plan clients in developing new product ideas, businesses to build, and transformational go-to-market projects across OptumInsight (OI). This role is critical in understanding and translating the needs of UnitedHealthcare and the Commercial Payer market to shape the OI business and product growth strategy for emerging solutions related to Total Cost of Care. Additionally, this leader should understand the Primary Care Physician marketplace and the challenges and opportunities for Providers. This leader is focused on meeting with providers, health plans, 3rd party companies, and internal executive stakeholders to identify and drive net-new innovative ideas, products, and businesses. This leader will need to be aware of and understand market trends and competitive intel and work with internal stakeholders to adjust strategy and roadmaps accordingly. This leader is expected to incorporate business acumen and industry expertise to drive top line growth. This leader is accountable for the performance and results of the business through multiple layers of management and senior level professional staff.

  • Drive the OI Payer Market Provider Enablement strategy
  • ""
  • Partner with OI Field Team operational leadership teams to develop joint solutions to broaden our capabilities in the market
  • ""
  • Work with growth partners to identify and lead strategic pursuits with health plan clients and develop strategies that incorporate long term go to market opportunities
  • ""
  • Lead M&A activities related to the above referenced strategy
  • ""
  • Drive the Product build work stream developing the needed capabilities to launch the offering in 2022
  • ""
  • Devise a partnership pilot strategy amongst OI and UnitedHealthcare
  • ""
  • Serve as an overall thought leader around Payer/Provider enablement across the many initiatives in-flight across Optum
  • ""
  • Work with product business partners to set solution and integration strategy to ensure new out-year growth
  • ""
  • Design client specific financial models that join multiple solutions and risk models together to support customer needs and Optum financial objectives
  • ""
  • Create short and long term strategies to ensure growth and achievement of sustainable revenue targets for Optum
  • ""
  • Identify solution design opportunities that can drive Product enhancements and further support growth and efficiency gains on holistic partnership deals
  • ""
  • Develop ongoing client support and governance structure as part of deal design efforts to ensure successful transition from deal to implementation in each pursuit

Required Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience working in leadership positions across health plans and/or providers
  • ""
  • 5+ years of experience in product, finance, consulting or growth roles
  • ""
  • 5+ years of experience with product strategy, business model development and top line growth
  • ""
  • Experience developing Payer/Provider strategic initiatives
  • ""
  • Experience driving initiatives in a heavily matrixed environments requiring the ability to influence and hold accountable without direct oversight
  • ""
  • Proven business development success and sales experience in identifying and recommending new opportunities and initiatives for continual growth
  • ""
  • Demonstrated experience using hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases
  • ""
  • Ability to articulate complicated ideas and strategies in a clear, concise fashion
  • ""
  • Willingness to travel domestically, up to 25%
  • ""

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $169,500 to $322,500.
