The Vice President, Corporate Development will be responsible for leading some of the highest profile business development transactions for the organization including large-scale divestitures, acquisitions, licenses and other partnership arrangements. Core activities of the position include leading and directly overseeing the full extent of the transactions from the ideation phase, project planning, due diligence, valuation, management/Board presentations, deal negotiations and overall execution. This role will be responsible for shepherding such deals through the organization's internal approval process (including directly interacting with ELT members) to get projects completed, as well as coaching and training other business development colleagues working on such transactions.



+ Independently lead/support business development transactions process, including project planning, due diligence, management presentations, deal negotiations and overall execution.

+ Manage the corporate development team responsible for Pfizer's highest profile business development transactions including large-scale divestitures, acquisitions, licenses and other partnership arrangements.

+ Responsible for making decisions for day-to-day activities to drive project to completion.

+ Lead cross-functional teams, including senior internal leaders, though full transaction process.

+ Provide recommendations to senior management regarding pursuit / discontinuation of deals and other critical items.

+ Coach and train other business development colleagues working on transactions.

+ Develop / maintain strong relationships with external advisors

+ Oversee financial advisors and external consultants supporting projects.

+ Lead/support screening activities to help identify corporate-level M&A targets and strategic transaction opportunities.

+ Oversee the monitoring and reporting of key industry activity / trends (including regular presentations).

+ Ensure consistent development of financial analytics, including analysis of deal synergies, creation of financial deal metrics, etc.

+ Ensure full alignment internally and problem-solve any issues as they arise.



**QUALIFICATIONS:**



Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.



+ Minimum of 16 + years of overall experience, with at least 7 years' experience in a Business Development function

+ Strong track record of leading and closing successful deals in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry

+ Experience successfully leading high impact complex projects and cross-functional teams

+ MBA or advanced science, financial or legal degree preferred

+ Strong knowledge/experience in strategy, negotiations, valuation, corporate finance and deal structuring

+ Excellent quantitative skills with significant experience in valuation modeling and analysis

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills

+ In-depth understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and pharmaceutical operations

+ Excellent organizational and leadership skills

+ Strong relationship building skills

+ Demonstrated ability to work in a results-oriented, project-driven, real-time team environment, prioritize projects and deliver quality results within tight time constraints

+ Prior interaction with Senior Executives



Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiating, finance and valuation modeling skills required



Non-standard work hours sometimes required (late nights and weekends as projects dictate)
