Located in Atlanta, GA and reporting to the SVP, General Counsel, the *VP, Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer *will be responsible for planning, overseeing, and executing the Companys corporate compliance policies and strategy. Also coordinates with different departments including internal audit and risk management, among others, to ensure that compliance issues are investigated and resolved. Serves as chief legal counsel on all privacy and information security issues, and collaborates with key internal stakeholders to create, implement, and maintain privacy and information security policies and procedures that are consistent with the Companys compliance standards and aligned with the corporate strategy. This position will manage a team of privacy and compliance professionals.

Specific responsibilities of the VP, Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer will include:


* Serve as the Companys chief advocate for a culture of compliance and sound ethical behavior, updating and enforcing the Companys Code of Conduct to ensure appropriate relationships between the Company, its customers, contractors, suppliers, and team members.

* Update and oversee the development of training curricula and supervise a program for routine monitoring and auditing of compliance policies, conduct investigations, and support fraud prevention and mitigation.

* Define the compliance risk for the Company and execute an annual compliance work plan to assess, plan, and manage compliance activities to determine whether compliance risks are appropriately mitigated by compliance risk owners.

* Build strong partnerships with multiple stakeholder groups including Technology, Product Management, Operations, Customer Care, Sales and Marketing, Cox Business, and Field Services aimed at prevention, mitigation, and risk remediation.

* Develop strong and productive working environment with key stakeholders and collaborate closely with other Cox entities compliance teams to implement compliance best practices.


* Serve as a chief legal advisor to the organization and champions an organizational culture where privacy and information security are a priority, as well as working collaboratively cross-functionally to guide, influence, and communicate appropriate levels of governance.

* Maintain expertise in information privacy and security laws and regulations and oversee the evaluation and impact of legislative, regulatory, legal developments, and industry proposals involving privacy and security.

* Work cross-functionally with privacy and information security teams to provide direction and guidance on companywide projects including data and privacy incident response strategy.

* Validate Companys compliance with privacy and information security laws, practices and procedures by: continuous review of business unit practices, including encouraging the development and implementation of privacy best practices, remaining up-to-date on latest trends and best practices in the industry.

* Enforce privacy and security policies and procedures, including development and implementation of business unit specific training and awareness programs.

* Provide on-going communications and participate in relevant events to increase employees awareness regarding privacy issues.


* Bachelors and Juris Doctor degrees required and must be admitted to practice and be in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.

* At least 8 years legal experience or in-house legal experience specializing in compliance, privacy laws, data and/or information security.

* Proven experience with corporate compliance programs.

* Knowledge and experience in federal and state information privacy laws including CCPA, GDPR and related state and federal programs and legislation.

* Ability to make strategic decisions, supervise complex monitoring programs, manage and educate highly skilled professionals, and even talk with other departments relating to risk and control.

* Excellent customer service skills, writing and executive presentation skills.

* Ability to build and foster strong business relationships and provide seamless collaboration across functional and matrix environment.

* Solid, pragmatic business acumen, proven record of creatively solving problems, and offering solutions.

* Other duties as needed or required.

* Travel as needed (10%)
