The Vendor Management Team Leader is a key role within the innovative Edward Jones Technology division, supporting the execution of the firm's technology strategies by managing the vendor strategy, operations and relationships, and ensuring the appropriate allocation of vendor spend.This role will establish and implement the following processes, building a team to support a rapidly evolving technology landscape with an increasing use of vendors to achieve Technology division goals and objectives in line with firm strategic priorities

* Build and maintain vendor relationships to provide high quality, cost-effective external services

* Develop and implement consistent processes related to vendor activities

* Educate and support teams on the operating models with vendors to ensure streamlined onboarding, offboarding and execution of efforts, providing consistent and centralized processes for contingent workforce resources

* Develop and implement appropriate governance structures and processes with vendors

* Develop and implement effective statement of work (SOW) creation, review & approval process

* Develop cross functional relationships with vendor and internal stakeholders, including Sourcing, Legal, HR, and other Technology areas

* Develop, implement and improve vendor performance metrics. Hold vendors accountable to established performance metrics. Investigate and resolve vendor performance issues and partner with vendors to drive continuous improvement.

* Work with vendors to identify and develop next-generation capabilities in support of the Technology Digital Strategy

* Partner with PMO and Finance division to perform financial reconciliation and appropriate allocation of vendor related expenses.

This role will work closely with Product Agile Center of Excellence (PACE) team in the tracking of vendor spend and other leadership reporting needs.
Initial emphasis for role will be focused on relationships with vendors used to provide contingent workforce and consultants to support firm efforts but could take on software, system integration or other vendors.

* Align team activities, strategies, responsibilities and objectives with the firms strategic direction.
* Develop and execute on-going improvements for processes related to the team (e.g. resource management and support processes).

* Ensure prudent use of the firms financial resources.

* Provide leadership, development, and mentoring to associates through examples and timely feedback.

* Develop successors for key positions on their team

* Manages and develops self while internalizing leadership feedback.

* Establish and maintain effective communications and relationships across teams, departments, countries, vendors and other divisions.

* Must be able to establish and maintain effective relationships with vendors while aligning to the firms objectives.

* Market knowledge of IT products, and services (hardware and software) and current trends

* Understanding of sourcing processes

* Understanding of system development methodologies and processes within technology (agile, change management, QA, Project Life Cycle, etc.)

* Able to appropriately react to vendor governance issues while leading team resources with appropriate urgency.

* Bachelors degree preferred or related work experience.

* Minimum of 5 years of experience directly related to technology with at least 1 year in a leadership role (mentoring associates, lead analyst, project leaders, etc.).

* Exposure to agile and product management practices.

* Financial Services experience and/or industry license(s) preferred.

* Successful passing of the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam within 18 months from date of hire
