The Manager, Quality Solutions Delivery serves as the responsible owner for overseeing and managing market level HEDIS data collection, improvement and compliance. This position is accountable for meeting the expectations of, as well as maintaining positive and productive direct reporting relationship with, Leadership, health plan, regional directors, vendor management and other internal partners.

This is an operational leadership role dedicated to Quality Solutions Delivery. This position will have direct reports. Demonstrated HEDIS knowledge and application is essential to job performance. Leader is involved in all critical functions to support HEDIS reporting, including, but not limited to oversight of:

Individual must be highly organized, possess strong leadership skills, with demonstrated professional maturity and emotional resilience. Day to day work varies based on time of year, with overarching goal to increase collection of member compliant information resulting in improved HEDIS rates. The core work during HEDIS collection season includes leading team in vendor data management monitoring and reconciliation activities for oversight of collection and abstraction. Employs focused Line of Business (LOB) strategy and specific markets, providing a priority measure approach to HEDIS data collection and gap closure by LOB.

Primary Responsibilities:

    ""
  • Overall operations direction and recommendations for HEDIS contracting, data collection, improvement and compliance to assure improved HEDIS scores to meet the business goals of UnitedHealthcare and the benefits business; Medicare, Medicaid and Commercial
  • ""
  • Oversee all vendor management consultants and vendors for performance, project planning, timeline progress, issues, risks, budgeting and resourcing
  • ""
  • Work with vendor managers to drive the identification of the skills, duration and effort required for successful project execution
  • ""
  • Monitor overall vendor performance, milestones and prepares routine reports on vendor progress/projects/improvements
  • ""
  • Collaborates with procurement on annual SOW/Contract/performance guarantees reviews and revisions
  • ""
  • Develop, communicate and implement program/project risk/issue management plans and strategies (e.g. mitigation, avoidance, transfer, acceptance)
  • ""
  • Reporting and improvement of HEDIS and HEDIS-like state specific measures
  • ""
  • Identification and development of operational quality improvements, strategic planning, collaboration with vendor management as well as projects and consulting assignments
  • ""
  • Participates with LOB to support quality initiatives including inter-segment coordination and cooperation to ensure timely and effective decision making on key HEDIS issues
  • ""
  • Supports in identification and development of operational improvements, strategic planning, projects and consulting assignments as they relate to HEDIS collection and vendor management
  • ""
  • Manages, evaluates and shifts projects progress and results to determine improvements required to meet ultimate financial and timeline targets/goals
  • ""
  • Builds and maintains relationships with vendors, customers, business partners, consultants, providers to meet/exceed business objectives
  • ""
  • Successfully recruits and develops staff to continuously improve their overall effectiveness and engagement
  • ""
  • Develops and maintains effective communication and change management strategies, written and verbal
  • ""
  • Directs resources in the most efficient manner to meet organizational objectives and goals
  • ""
  • Pursues continuous improvement in customer satisfaction, operational metrics, processes, and competence of staff and cost reduction

  • Bachelors degree
  • ""
  • 3+ years direct HEDIS experience
  • ""
  • 3+ years Project management experience
  • ""
  • 3+ years of experience in working with or managing multiple vendors including contract analysis, performance monitoring, vendor performance and project plans
  • ""
  • 1+ years of effective managerial/supervisory experience with direct reports
  • ""
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • "

  • Six Sigma certification or other process improvement methodology knowledge and application
