UMR, UnitedHealthcares third-party administrator solution (and the nations largest TPA), is seeking an experienced UX-focused product designer who appreciates the opportunity to optimize the health benefits experience through design. An integral part of our Digital Solutions team, this role is for someone driven to share new ways of seeing and thinking within the digital space, while collaborating among business owners, developers, product owners and project management teams to champion the user experience. A versatile role, this designer will touch various properties and channels, including web, mobile, email, and SMS text.

This position is responsible for design of UMR digital solutions and communications, across a wide range of digital products and marketing materials. Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly and shine in a matrixed environment.

Primary Responsibilities

    ""
  • Balance multiple priorities. Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams to achieve project deadlines, and to ensure all work is consistent with UMR voice, tone, and brand, as well as congruent with business strategy and customer/member needs. Balance great design with short timelines and competing priorities
  • ""
  • Embrace Agile. Work as part of an Agile based team, led by product directors and business analysts, to inform user story creation and ensuring scenarios are thoroughly considered
  • ""
  • Release early & often. Develop and present wireframes and storyboards early in the process to show screen flow, navigation, and interaction details. Design prototypes for web and mobile user interfaces that demonstrate the appearance and behavior of implemented features
  • ""
  • Examine the landscape. Stay abreast of UX/UI trends, WCAG compliance, agile methodologies, and content strategy best practices. Use emerging best practices to balance innovation with operational/functional feasibility and viability
  • ""
  • Persuade and iterate. Work with key stakeholders and product owners (SMEs) to set the vision for assigned projects, with an eye for engaging target audience and driving action/results
  • ""
  • Facilitate discussions with SMEs to educate and sell in the rationale behind design choices. Solicit feedback and iterate original concepts based on findings and recommendations

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in UX, interaction/digital design and/or product design with an emphasis on digital media (or equivalent experience) preferred
  • ""
  • 6+ years UX design experience with engaging portfolio/body of work
  • ""
  • 3 + years of experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite
  • ""
  • 3 + years of experience with HTML, other coding languages a bonus
  • ""
  • 3 + years of experience with digital product design, across mobile and desktop experiences, within a dynamic cross-functional environment (B2B & B2C)
  • ""
  • Deep knowledge and expertise in visual storytelling through product, user interface, and interaction design across web and mobile platforms (includes prototyping)
  • ""
  • 3 + years of experience working within and co-creating design/brand systems and guidelines, sharing the commitment to documenting systems as they evolve
  • "

  • Well-versed with Sketch and Miro for UI/UX projects, familiarity with Agile methods

  • Ability to think critically, quickly discern complexities in potential solutions, and identify/mitigate risks

  • Background maintaining websites, designing for email marketing campaigns, as well as ability to create customer-specific micro-site/landing page experiences

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $64,800 to $116,000..
