Qualifications

Required Training/Certification(s):
  • Computing Environment (CE) Certification: Cisco CCNA or equivalent
  • Required DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II Baseline Certification: CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent

Required Skills / Experience:
  • Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network administration and support
  • Experience implementing STIGs per RMF guidelines
  • Experience maintaining backup systems and data integrity IAW industry best practices
  • Experience developing and implementing system test plans
  • Experience supporting end user workstations

Desired Skills / Experience:
  • Experience configuring and deploying Secure Host Baseline images
  • Knowledge of DoDM 5220.22-M NISPOM, AR 25-2, and NIST SP 800-53


Responsibilities

Position Description:

Provide planning and execution support for the development and administration of information systems supporting a Project Office Field Site. Conduct technical analysis and administration of product implementations, modifications and enhancements in accordance with all Department of Defense (DoD) and Army regulations to include Risk Management Framework (RMF). Administer and coordinate systems security policy and procedures across a multi-disciplined team while working directly on site providing system administration and operations support.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

A TSIL Systems Administrator will:
  • Perform systems administration of various devices connected to local and wide area networks.
  • Desktop system management responsibilities involving account monitoring, security, Operating System (OS) installation, and other local area system administration related functions.
  • Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems
  • Manage IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems
  • Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage devices
  • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problem
  • Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers
  • Provide IMO/TCO support for system and hardware problems
  • Remains involved in the remedy resolution process
  • Configure and manage operating systems
  • Install/load operating system and application software
  • Isolate and resolve hardware and software problems involving the applications, the operating system, the hardware, the communications infrastructure, or any combination thereof
  • Troubleshoot, maintain integrity of, and configure security requirements along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance
  • Integrate new technologies into new and existing systems
  • Have an understanding of NISPOM/DISA security requirements and know how to implement required security settings.
  • Ability to analyze security scan reports and develop/implement a plan to mitigate security vulnerabilities.
  • Experience with automated capabilities for updating or patching systems where practical, and develop processes and procedures for manual system updating and patching.
