Responsibilities

The successful Training Specialist applicant will have a proven track record in training innovation, knowledge management, excellent leadership skills, and demonstrable experience in delivering training both in the classroom and through the virtual medium. Prior experience in a corporate or government environment, a contact center, operations management or project management team would be an advantage. Job Summary:

Prepares and/or conducts training programs and teaches classes, holds webinars and discussion groups. Assists in the design and delivery of programs to train all levels of personnel. Develops tests and visual aids, conducts training classes, and develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities. Formulates teaching outline in conformance with selected instructional methods, utilizing knowledge of specified training needs and effectiveness of such training methods as individual coaching, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, meetings, and workshops. Keeps abreast of training and development research: learning theory, motivation theory, and new materials, methods, and techniques. Assists in the development of in-house programs and practices that identify developmental needs and prepare personnel for more responsible positions. May partner with contractors or vendors to develop and/or administer training programs. Develops and executes e-learning programs. Confers with management, and employees to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives and technologies. Formulates teaching outline and provides recommendations for instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, demonstrations, webinars, meetings and workshops. Assists in the selection or development of teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works. Ability to execute all aspects of the training program.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver moderate to highly complex and innovative learning solutions to individual contributors, management, third party and government client audiences using best practices to engage the learner, encourage participation, and produce desired outcomes.
  • Organize and contribute to the creation of instructional and delivery methods using various learning solutions and technologies, including classroom instruction, web-based training program design, live virtual training, on-the-job coaching while serving as a subject matter expert in more than one content domain.
  • Skillfully execute training plans and activities while maintaining an effective learning environment; giving thoughtful consideration to learner needs.
  • Complete assigned projects with minimal oversight while being receptive to constructive feedback.
  • Able to adapt to a fast paced and ever changing environment with limited advance preparation.
  • Possess the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and discern when escalation to leadership and immediate action is required.
  • Establish credibility with learners and account staff by demonstrating subject matter expert level knowledge of solution content and assisting with the development of knowledge material, instructional manuals and process recommendations.
  • Contribute to the identification and addressing of learner competency gaps while evaluating and making recommendations on training and knowledge material.
  • Anticipate and incorporate legal, ethical, and cultural issues relevant to solution delivery by acting as a role model.
  • Administer assessment methods to measure training effectiveness, track and report training activities and outcomes, and provide feedback to training and program leadership.
  • Collaborate with program level functional teams such as operations, knowledge management, quality assurance and resource management.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelors Degree or 3-5 years equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2+ years in a training delivery or equivalent role required
  • Minimum 1+ year experience in service desk environment preferred

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Proficient with proficiency in MS Office and related business and communication tools is a must
  • Ability to quickly understand and adopt new, complex technologies and concepts; including critical thinking and innovative problem solving.
  • Understanding of instructional design, training methodologies, learning management systems and competency assessment.
  • Possesses excellent interpersonal and observational skills
  • Strong, demonstrated training instruction experience including teaching and facilitating in a blended learning environment.
  • Experience developing informational/instructional materials, ideally in a corporate or government environment.
