Responsibilities

Work Description:

The selected candidate for the Test Engineer position will play a critical role supporting the client providing guidance, project planning, and processes necessary to shape their expanding UAV program. The Test Engineer will review, evaluate and derive test plans and procedures that accurately trace to system requirements for end-to-end system testability and ensure that the system and subsystems meet all operational and performance requirements to achieve mission success. The selected candidate will have the experience with the following activities and tasks:

  • Experience with end-to-end integration and test methods including identification and mitigation of programmatic and technical risk.
  • Assisting COTRs with project planning, especially test planning, project analysis, and project reporting. Including the preparation and maintenance of project documentation, such as SOWs, system specifications, ICDs, CONOPS, test plans and master schedules.
  • Assisting in interfacing with external organizations to optimize workflow with inter-government partners.
  • Assisting COTRs and INFOSEC engineering teams develop system accreditation documentation.
  • Provide support to client programmatic and technical forums.
  • Support and maintain current and subsequent FY Program Plans for client

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, science, or other related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of SE experience or program/project management.
  • 10+ years of experience in complex, multi-segmented system development, integration, and test of projects including five (5) years or more as lead systems engineer and five (5) years or more of specialized, relevant technical experience in the general areas of systems engineering, system development and verification, hardware and software development.
  • 3+ years of experience in overseeing the design, development and testing of highly reliable, environmentally survivable, field deployable, autonomous sensors.
  • Working understanding of system accreditation policy and processes, e.g., ICD 503, etc.
  • Effective in programmatic documentation. Ability to create project documentation (program plans, test plans, processes, etc.) with minimal supervision.
  • Effective in systems engineering principles and processes. Ability to integrate system level requirements (operational, technical, mission) to support the acquisition, development, test, operation and maintenance of large collection systems.
  • Understanding of USG acquisition process and experience drafting documentation in support of competitive and sole-source acquisitions including SOWs, requirements documents, interface control documents, concepts of operation, etc. Experience in defining acquisition options including competitive risk reduction and down selects, and system upgrades and recapitalization.
  • Ability to decompose systems into functional architecture, and integrate system level requirements and functions across subsystems, fully identifying impacts of design decisions made at the subsystem level on the overall system.
  • Desired Qualifications:

    • PMP certification
    • Experience with use of MS Office and MS Project applications
    • Previous experience with the test and deployment of systems in harsh and unattended environments
    • Previous experience with collection systems
    • Masters degree or higher in engineering, science, or other related technical disciplines.
    • 3+ years of experience in at least one of the areas of technology or lines of business that apply to the client projects
    • Demonstrated experience supporting customer centers of excellence.
    • FAA Part 107 UAS Remote Pilot Certificate
