Tier 2 and 3 Telephony Personnel are required to install, repair, and maintain a variety of telephony and related equipment. The bulk of this equipment is associated with telephone switches, remote switching modules, VOIP systems, trunk interfaces, etc. End user equipment familiarity is required, but typically these individuals are not required to maintain or install this equipment. The telephony engineers will be called upon by the customer to provide capabilities design services and make recommendations as to new equipment, upgrades, and capabilities to be incorporated into the existing network.

Telephony Technicians and Engineers are required to possess and in-depth knowledge of telephone switching and network technologies and hardware including VOIP. They must also have familiarity with leading telephony equipment vendors such as Avaya, Cisco, and DSG. Depending on the actual position filled, they may be asked by the customer to recommend changes to the existing infrastructure and participate in design reviews.


Required Skills, Experience, and Education: Candidate must have a total of 12 years of applicable experience. The experience can be a combination of degree and work history. This can be a High School degree and 12 years of work history OR an Associates and 10 years, a Bachelors and 8 years, a Masters and 6 years or a PhD and 2 years of work history.

Certifications: One of the following certifications is required: Avaya, VOIP, STU/STE, Call Managers, ACD, Tempest Repair.

Required Clearance: TSSCI with Polygraph.

This position requires ability to satisfy a government administered high risk screening.
