The Technical Writer primary role is to produce high-quality documentation that contributes to the overall success of our products. The Technical Writer is responsible for creating and writing various types of user documentation, including how-to guides, references, manuals, and or instructions. Technical Writers must have a good technical understanding of the Vivify Health software system with which they are working. They need excellent communication skills to gather useful information from the Development and Product teams to present the information clearly to the user. In addition, writers must have a knowledge of documentation in both soft and hard formats related to design, layout, readability requirements, and graphics. The Technical Writer will work collaboratively with developers, quality testers, product managers, clinicians, and usability experts to make our products easier to use. The Technical Writer reports to the Vice President of Software Development, and as directed, the Technical Writer role will be focused on, but not exclusively limited to, the activities outlined below.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Works with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the Vivify Health products and the documentation requirements
  • ""
  • Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities
  • ""
  • Create and maintain information architecture
  • ""
  • Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended end user in multiple formats
  • ""
  • Write easy-to-understand user interface text and online help
  • ""
  • Create tutorials to help end-users use of variety of software features and functionality
  • ""
  • Ensure technical verbiage is easy to understand by the end user
  • ""
  • Follow an Agile/Scrum software development life cycle
  • ""
  • Provide updates and different versions as necessary
  • ""
  • This job operates in an environment that handles Personal Health Information, Electronic Protected Health Information along with other Personal Identifiable Information and requires strict security and privacy awareness with regards to handling such information

Required Qualifications:

  • 1+ years working experience in technical writing of software documentation
  • ""
  • You will be asked to perform this role in an office setting or other company location
  • ""
  • If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas, In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders.
