This position has responsibility for accomplishing technical or advanced business area specific functions including interpreting information and making subjective decisions that have a moderate to high level of risk or that may have legal, regulatory or financial implications. Decisions must ensure collaboration with a variety of roles and support functions within the business area. The position is required to understand rules & regulations and the impact they have on the business area functions, systems and controls; along with identifying inherent and potential risks and making recommendations to mitigate.

Responsibilities frequently include supporting new technology or system upgrades through gathering requirements, developing & executing system tests, providing readiness sign off, and supporting all aspects of implemenation. May be required to develop documentation of new functional processes.

The position may have a variety of daily and periodic responsibilities based on the business area, and requires a strong working knowledge of specific product or financial services industry rules, processes, systems and controls.

*Key Responsibilities:*
* This individual will be responsible for performing multiple operations functions (i.e. processing, service, reconciliation) on a team within the department based on a comprehensive understanding of the work.
* This individual will frequently serve as a team resource, filling whatever needs exist based on volume, staffing variations, and overall team needs.
* They may participate in and/or lead special projects, both inside and outside of the department, assist with the training of associates, serve as mentor/coach to less skilled associates, serve as workflow coordinator and identify as well as implement process improvements.
* Analyzing, researching and interpreting complex items or information, and using this information to make subjective decisions.
* Take ownership of inquiries, effectively prioritize work, consistently meet deadlines and follow through appropriately.
* Serve as a subject matter expert on one or more business area functions including a strong understanding of both how and why the work is performed.
* Must be able to identify, track and report data analytic trends within the industry and firm.
* Identify problem trends and partner with key stakeholders to define full scope, determine root causes, assess client/business risks and find solutions.
* Identify and implement process improvement solutions.


Other responsibilities may include:
* Train and coaching of associates wthin or across multiple business areas.
* Analyze, research and interpret complex information in order to make subjective decisions.
* Subject matter expert on one or more business area functions including a strong understanding of both how and why the work is performed.
* Serve as business area floater, generalist or workflow coordinator when business needs arise.
* Provide detailed analysis of information along with alternative solutions and present recommendations to business area leaders for process or system improvements.
* Manage system and information access and authorize user access approvals.
* Serve as the business area Records Information Management liaison and/or Business Continuity coordinator.
* Frequent communication with home office leaders, branch offices, and/or vendors to resolve issues, answer escalated questions and carry out responsibilities.
* Quality and accuracy reviews on selected work of associates in the area.
* Track and respond to branch suggestions, survey comments and other feedback.
* Reconciliation of internal firm account balances or research and resolve complex, non-routine out-of-balance conditions.


* High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
* 3-5 years of experience in the financial services industry or related field experience is required.
* Strong problem-solving skills are required in order to research non-routine issues and recognize complex situations involving client accounts and/or firm systems.
* Must be able to demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy and quality to ensure department goals and deadlines are met or exceeded as well as being adaptable to change.
* Strong customer service focus that supports the firm's commitment to exceed client needs and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Previous experience with Microsoft office tools and spreadsheets.
* Strong analytical skills preferred with intermediate skills in creating complex spreadsheets and formulas, running Hyperion queries creating and analyzing reports, and using internet reference material and external resources to proactively develop measures, make decisions, or to manage ongoing controls for the business area.
* Takes initiative; motivated self-starter and detailed orientated, able to meet deadlines while working independently and/or remotely.
