As part of the AT&T Consulting Services team, the Technical Project Manager is responsible for providing project management and consultation for project activities with a focus on building strong relationships with the delivery team, customer, and AT&T management and technical staff.


Roles and responsibilities of the Technical Project Manager with the AT&T Consulting Professional Services team include but are not limited to the following:


Captures and documents all key tasks, milestones, customer expectations, requirements, data gathering and reporting needs.

Directs and coordinates a project/engagement and related activities across cross-functional personnel to complete on schedule and within budget.

Establishes quantifiable key metrics used to create and deliver customer scorecard.

Actively communicates project/engagement status and priorities with sponsors, driving planning and tracking of tasks, scheduling, reporting, and delivery across various project/engagement phases.

Works with management and staff to outline work plans and assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.

Demonstrates expertise in planning, executing, and delivering projects/engagements.

Experience mentoring team members.

Actively manages the work efforts of multiple functional resources through the project/engagement plan.

Initiates and maintains reporting relationships with stakeholders including team members, peers, managers, customers, vendors, and other affected departments to coordinate efforts across multiple business units and ensure continuous efficient management of projects/engagements; gathers input and feedback.

Establishes Risk Management Program (Methodology, Process, Procedures and Tools), Risk Register for tracking and reporting to management and oversight of Risk Manager daily activities.

Create and manage project plans across all work streams. Assure quality delivery of services throughout the life of the project/engagement (i.e. all phases of design, deployment, technology refresh, and Day 2 operational support).

Maximize efficiency, consistency, and reduce risk through the development of standardized tools, templates, and processes.

Establish an overall program management structure. Align key project functions and establish a program management model. Identify roles and responsibilities and establish clear areas of accountability.

Provide program oversight and stakeholder management.

Provide analytical and quantitative support to assist with key decisions.

Develop the program level schedule, incorporating individual project schedules into an executive view.

Develop the program wide risk management and contingency plan.

Program Management Communications. Maintenance and distribution of project status reports, project plans and project roll-up summary reporting.

Project Schedules - Maintenance and updating of centralized project deployment schedules. Development of the Migration Plan and Schedule, including tasks and milestones.

Documentation Control - Maintenance and version-control of official project-based documents as well as owner of document repository.

Follow-up and Closure - Coordination and management of implementation completion activities, including project acceptance, post-implementation evaluation and project reporting. Quickly understands and assimilates the deliverables outlined in customer statements of work (SOW).

7+ years of experience leading projects.

Expertise in project management leadership and execution in the following areas: networking infrastructure, security, cloud-based or virtual infrastructure, process development.

Experience managing multiple technology projects.

Strong working knowledge of Word, Excel PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, MS-Teams.

Experience in building and maintaining complex schedules (e.g. MS Project, ServiceNow).

Excellent documentation, attention to detail, retention, and follow-up skills.

Ensure project documentation is organized and stored properly.

Leads and works well in teams and with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds.

Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.

An analytical mindset with excellent organizational skills.

Superior attention to detail to identify and correct risky practices.

Strong communication and relationship building skills, able to interact with clients up to the executive level.

Must be a strong communicator and capable of expressing oneself clearly both speaking and in writing.

Coordinate interactions between the project team, client, and suppliers.

Possess a collaborative personality and be open to suggestions from team members.

Coaches and directs other project managers on the team.

Facilitate project planning with the team while developing a project schedule.

Be able to manage large projects and integrate multiple project schedules.

Leads risk assessment and manages risk mitigation.

Develops and oversees execution of a communications plan.

Facilitate project team meetings including weekly status meetings.

Works with project teams to resolve scheduled, budget, deliverable, and quality problems

PMP or equivalent.

Excellent analytical skills and ability to accurately interpret complex documents and policies.

Strong time management and organizational skills and able to meet deadlines.

Strong moral code and sense of ethics.
