What You'll Do

The Senior Front-End Engineer role is mission critical to helping build (strategy, research, design, innovate, implement, maintain, optimize) a UI/UX/QA practice for enterprise networking business front-ends. You will have the ability to define a vision and strategy for the future of user experience for Cisco clients that encourages the organization to achieve that vision.

Contributing with a team of UI developers and testing experts, this is a role that will challenge you to help lead the team's workload and to participate in it. Working hand-in-hand with the product and engineering teams, you are responsible for identifying and crafting solutions which serve Cisco clients' needs, goals and requirements for a seamless experience.

You will be responsible for creating and delivering a Cisco signature experience for clients.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work closely with a team of Product Managers and Designers (UI/UX) to design and implement an intuitive, cohesive and seamless user experience across SDWAN products.
  • Collaborate with Product Management to influence product strategy and roadmap.
  • Work with the Engineering team to ensure technical business needs are met while maintaining a strong focus on the user experience.
  • Distill complex problems and propose simple, elegant solutions.
  • Build a signature experience for Cisco software and solutions that are aligned to the Company's brand values.

Who You Are

Experience and Technical Skills

  • 5+ years developing UI for rich, interactive, consumer or enterprise web applications.
  • 5+ years of JavaScript experience, including concepts like asynchronous programming, closures, types, ES6 and TypeScript. Experience with Angular is essential. Knowledge AngularJS is a bonus.
  • 5+ years of HTML/CSS experience, including concepts like layout, specificity, cross browser compatibility, and accessibility
  • 5+ years experience with browser APIs and optimizing front end performance
  • Expertise in defining and implementing user experience guidelines; demonstrated experience with industry/platform standards.
  • Experience in conceptual development and rapid creative prototyping as well as tactical UI design and implementation.
  • Project management experience; experience with various design methodologies and processes including Agile development.
  • Experience with Angular and related technologies RxJS, NgRx or other state management, etc.
  • Experience with Material Design, Bootstrap, etc.

Education:

  • BS/MS in Computer Science, User Experience, Human Computer Interaction, Information Science or Digital Design.
