Position: Technical Generalist Model Rebalancing

This position has responsibility for accomplishing core or critical functions related to rebalancing activity in Advisory and Guided Fund accounts. This includes understanding and interpreting complex information and making decisions that have a high level of risk or that may have legal, regulatory, or financial implications. Decisions must ensure collaboration with a variety of business areas and support functions within these areas.

The position may have a variety of daily and periodic responsibilities based on the team's business need and requires a strong understanding of rules & regulations and the impact they have on the business area functions, systems and controls; along with identifying inherent and potential risks including the implementation of recommendations to mitigate.

Responsibilities:
* Develop advanced knowledge in the core and critical functions within the team, understanding the full upstream and downstream impacts of the team's work across various key stakeholders.
* Maintain oversight of various team controls and support team's technical needs such as queries, macros, production issues. May perform quality/accuracy reviews.
* Responsible for making complex, routine and non-routine decisions and exceptions. At times there will be no defined parameters in place for which to make decisions. The associate will need to be resourceful and capable of working independently to solve problems and make sound decisions in the absence of a leader. Incorrect decisions could result in future financial, tax, legal, and regulatory issues. Decisions could greatly impact internal and external stakeholders.
* Conduct detailed analysis of information and present recommendations or alternative solutions to business area leaders for process/system improvements and risk mitigation.
* Frequent communication with home office leaders, branch teams, and across stakeholder areas to resolve issues, answer escalated questions and carry out responsibilities including implementing effective change management.
* Analyze, research, and interpret complex information utilizing a high degree of industry and regulatory knowledge related to the business area.
* Communicate with impact to key stakeholders in the division, firm, and/or vendors to resolve issues, facilitate escalations, and complete responsibilities. This associate is the first line of escalation for questions of associates within and outside of the department.
* Collects, analyzes and acts on relevant information to make effective decisions and prioritize responsibilities; considers the impact of decisions on the department, division and firm.
* Act as mentor/coach to other associates and provide leadership to small groups on projects.
Requirements:
* A Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience is preferred.
* 5+ years of experience in a financial services environment (or equivalent) required. Strong understanding of business and specific regulations is required within 6 months.
* Specific licenses may be required, but only if the specific function is covered by a rule that requires it. Series 99 license is preferred.
* An advanced knowledge of procedures and systems associated with multiple functions in a department or group of departments. Examples of the specific knowledge would be in the areas of: trading, books and records, corporate actions, cash and banking related functions, anti-money laundering, client accounts, mutual funds, insurance, stocks, bonds, managed money products, retirement products and services, client reporting, tax, customer account transfers, securities processing, etc.
* Knowledge of complex systems and system interdependencies within Operations. Experience with fee based accounts and/or trading systems is preferred. Ability to make recommendations to resolve and improve system issues is required.
* Background in project management, change management, risk management, business specific technical support, lean six sigma or business analysis is strongly preferred.
* Must be able to communicate complex details effectively with senior leaders, branches, vendors and other external parties to get results.
* Must have strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and handle a heavy workload in order to fulfill all the roles within the area.
* Strong analytical skills preferred with advanced skills in creating complex spreadsheets and formulas, running Hyperion queries creating and analyzing reports to develop measures and manage ongoing controls for the business area.
* Must have ability to identify process improvement opportunities, determine business requirements, develop and execute test scripts for enhancements through implementation while understanding downstream impacts to other systems.
* Takes initiative; motivated self- starter and detailed oriented; able to meet deadlines while working independently and/or remotely.
