As an engineer in the Technical Assistance Center (TAC), youll work on problems at a deep technical level not normally experienced in a typical enterprise environment.

Products supported could include HyperFlex, Unified Computing Systems (UCS), management software, virtualized switches, hypervisors, server operating systems, and a ground breaking cloud solution.

In addition to solving issues for customers and partners, youll be a key player recommending product changes, detailing solutions, and automating log analysis.

Who You'll Work With

Our team is the primary face of Cisco support to customers and partners. Youll get to work with a wide variety of individuals and partners that seek your technical support. The global set of engineers within the Data Center TAC are also first rate. No one can know it all, so youll aid one another according to areas of expertise. Given the wide array of products Cisco has, cross-technology collaboration is also encouraged. We interact with many other entities internally such as account teams, developers, supply chain, professional services organizations such as Sophisticated Services, and many more. Were well-connected, which means there is the ability to learn and influence continually.

Who You Are

You'll be a vital part of our Richardson, TX campus. The abilities we are seeking include:

• Applied knowledge of networking industry products and protocols.
• Crisis leadership skills and ability to handle critical customer issues/problems.
• Analytical capabilities where situations or data requires a review of identifiable factors on problems of moderate to wide scope and moderate to high complexity.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3+ years' experience with Data Center Networking and Data Center Products.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven networking experience including TCP/IP and routing protocols.
• Troubleshooting experience using Finisar, Wireshark, or other protocol analyzer.
• Fixing of data center solutions consisting of the following: HyperFlex, Unified Computing Systems B and C Series Servers; Windows, VMware, and Linux Operating Systems Environments; storage architectures and/or file systems; designs and implementations for data center solutions; multi-vendor platform and component interoperability.

Desired Skills:

• BS in a technical field (CS/EE preferred) though an Associates degree or military service will also be considered.
• 3 or more years of important experience.
• Cisco, Microsoft, and VMware Certifications.
• HP, IBM, or Dell server support.
• Specific knowledge of products within Ciscos Teamwork, Data Center, Security, Voice, Wireless, Routing, or Switching portfolios.
• Programming skills (Python, Ruby, C, C++, Linux, Shell Scripting, etc.).
