**ROLE SUMMARY**



Leads a team of colleagues who are engaged in the production of pharmaceutical or biotechnology products in compliance with good manufacturing practice (GMP) guidelines and federal, state, and local environmental/safety regulations. Supports product transfers, new product development, and cost improvement projects. Responsible for setting colleague schedules and overseeing timecards/overtime.



Fosters teamwork and colleague development within the department and the function. Provides guidance and coaching to colleagues and provides direction/approval of activities and decisions. Cultivates and reinforces appropriate group values, norms, and behaviors. Provides oversight to individuals and team on personal development and performance. Writes and delivers performance reviews. Provides oversight of department, ensuring proper use of assets, budget, and personnel. Promotes a strong safety culture and maintains a safe working environment. Drives continuous improvement in department work processes and results.



Conducts all activities and makes decisions that are in accordance with Company policies & SOPs, Pfizer Values, & global regulatory guidelines (including cGMP/cGLP/cGCP), environmental guidelines, etc.



**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**



+ Functional/Technical Knowledge (Application of industry and Pfizer-specific principles, theories, concepts, and practices to improve operations; focus is on leading/overseeing defined processes)

+ Manage Colleagues (Colleague scheduling, performance reviews, development discussions, build teams, foster colleague engagement, deliver results, manage through others, etc.)

+ Problem Solving/Innovation (Provide solutions to a wide range of difficult problems; able to adapt and respond positively to situations and people in order to meet changing work priorities)

+ Site-wide Communication (Represents department during collaborative efforts with other disciplines, including production, environmental, engineering, safety, quality, etc.)

+ Level of Independence (Works under only general direction and administers policies/procedures that affect individual subordinate colleagues)



**QUALIFICATIONS**



**Must Have**



+ High School Diploma/GED and 8+ years of manufacturing support/experience; or BS/MS in ChE, Chemistry, or related discipline and 3+ years of manufacturing support/experience.

+ Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with senior leadership, scientists, maintenance personnel, contractors, and safety contacts.

+ At minimum, possesses a general understanding of the scientific principles that are being utilized in the area to manufacture APIs/biotechnology products. Knowledge of bioprocessing and/or sterilization concepts is desirable. Demonstrated knowledge of applicable GMP, safety, and environmental concepts.

+ Capable of organizing and scheduling colleague/equipment utilization. Maintains proficient skills using Microsoft applications (e.g. Word, Excel).
