The Systems & Software Security Leadwill engage in cloud-based systems security engineering implementation of enterprise infrastructure and platforms required for cloud computing, and development and deployment of applications into a cloud environment. Activities supported will include full life cycle end-to-end security engineering and information assurance, development, integration, authorization and accreditation, and deployment of cloud-based computing and information systems that meet specified mission needs.

Considered a recognized authority within the company. Works on unusually complex technical problems and provides solutions which are highly innovative. Determines and pursues courses of action necessary to obtain desired results.

Specific Responsibilities include:

Plans, implements, upgrades, monitors security measures for the protection of computer networks and information Monitors, analyzes, and detects Cyber events and incidents within information systems and networks. Coordinates integrated, dynamic Cyberdefense, implementing and maintaining security toolsets to support organizations continuous monitoring and ongoing authorization and accreditation programs, establishing a framework by which cyber risk can be measured and quantified in the marketplace. Determines security requirements by evaluating business strategies and requirements; researching information security standards; conducting system security and vulnerability analyses and risk assessments; studies architecture/platform; identifies integration issues; prepares corrective measures cost estimates. Implements security systems by specifying intrusion detection methodologies and equipment; directs equipment and software installation and calibration; prepares preventive and reactive measures; provides technical support; prepares requisite documentation. Verifies security systems developing and implementing test scripts. Maintains security by monitoring and ensuring compliance to standards, policies, and procedures; conducts incident response analyses; develops & conducts training programs. Responsible for design, development, implementation, and integration of a DoD IA architectures, systems, or system components for use within computing, network, and enclave environments. Ensure that the architecture and design of development and operational systems are functional and secure, including program of record systems and special purpose processing nodes with platform IT interconnectivity. Ensures appropriate security controls are in place that will safeguard digital files and vital electronic infrastructure. Respond to computer security breaches and viruses.


Required Qualifications:

  1. A minimum of TS security clearance with SCI eligibility.
  2. Bachelor's with 10-12 yrs of exp. or Master's with 8-10 yrs of exp.; Or related equivalent experience w/o a degree.
  3. Any Cloud-related Professional cert(s): [e.g., i. Professional Cloud Solutions Architect (PCSA) ii. AWS Solutions Architect (Professional)], iii. AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, iv. AWS Certified SysOps Administrator (Associate), v. AWS Certified DevOps Engineer (Professional), vi. AWS Certified Big Data (Specialty) vii. AWS Cloud Security]
  4. Experience leading a distributed cross-functional information technology implementation team.
  5. DIA systems experience [e.g., Machine-Assisted Analytic Rapid-Repository System (MARS), Generic Area Limitations Environment (GALE), Functional Intelligence System of Hierarchical Networks (FISHNet), FounDRI, Event Data, Defense Economics Database, Object Based Production (OBP), Activity Based Intelligence (ABI), IC Information Technology Enterprise (ICITE)].
  6. Hands-on experience in large-scale distributed systems security engineering, integration, applications, analysis (e.g., design, development, implementation, verification, authorization and accreditation, deployment, sustainment).
  7. Experience using Agile implementation methodologies.

Desired Qualifications:

  1. STEM Masters degree (e.g., computer science, management information systems, systems engineering).
  2. Relevant EA/SA (Architect), SE&I (INCOSE), IT (ITIL), Security (CISSP, ISSO), Agile (CSM) certs; SAFe SME
  3. Large cloud-computing infrastructure and platforms experience (e.g., AWS or Elastic MapReduce).
  4. Cloud-based systems engineering, & development/deployment of applications into a cloud environment experience.
  5. Able to identify security gaps & vulnerabilities in current capabilities/processes and to engineer corrective measures.
  6. Knowledge of/demonstrated proficiency applying SE&I process, producing SE artifacts, designing solutions, performing trades, mission utility and vulnerability analysis, requirements engineering, interface definition, detailed implementation planning, tech insertion, risk management, readiness, authorization and accreditation, and transition.
  7. Experience in commercial/defense industry IT Systems Security Engineering, processes, workflows, information operations and assurance, content architectures, web services frameworks, data standards, & industry best practices.
