Responsibilities

The selected Test and Evaluation (T&E) Systems Engineer will support a new program at Perspecta, focused on development of a new Space Domain architecture. The Systems Engineer will support Baseline Evaluation, Validation and Verification. Tasks include using the Technical Baseline in order to evaluate system level single point failures, risks, redundancies, opportunities, and capabilities; Develop and implement a comprehensive System-level T&E master plan that will be used to validate the System capabilities and resolve critical operational and System technical issues; Identify specialized T&E capabilities, resources, and instrumentation requirements necessary to support T&E activities throughout the system life cycle. Determine if equipment or other resources from lower level verification can be utilized in lieu of new developments or procurements; Provide supplemental test and verification support to integrated System test activities. Support test plan development, procedure development, test requirements analysis, equipment procurement, test performance, results analysis, and documentation.

The SE will prepare, maintain, and lead implementation of a System Requirements Verification Plan (SRVP) and model, simulate, analyze, test, and perform other system level verification activities to ensure that endtoend performance is sufficient to satisfy functional, capability and performance requirements and report the results of all system level verification activities; Support Segment modeling and simulation activities associated with requirements verification. Ensure all system modeling and simulation used for requirements verification and system certification are verified, validated, and accredited; Ensure that valid test measurements and data acquisition methods are used in the reporting of test results. Report issues and impacts with the SV Contractors RVPs, recommend potential courses of action and work to closure all approved closure plans.

General Description: Using a holistic approach, designs, develops, evaluates and modifies end-to-end systems and systems-oriented products through their entire life cycle. Generates quantifiable requirements based on customer description, system planning and design, and acquisition logistics. Ensures requirements comply with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods. Translates high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with other engineering disciplines to develop lower level detailed implementation requirements. Establishes and coordinates development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the overall product development. Designs interfaces and brings system elements together so they work as a whole. Assesses performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures. Customer liaison and support for business development activities and to understand and shape requirements. Participates in system conceptual design and documentation of the design concepts. Translates high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with multi-discipline engineering teams to develop lower level detailed requirements. Participates in design reviews of components (hardware and software) to ensure applicability to the current system and traceability of requirements through compliance verification and validation. Generates system level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures. Reviews test plans/procedures and ensures they meet the objectives of the contractual requirements and participates in the testing process to validate requirements.


Qualifications

  • Requires 5-8 years with BS/BA or 3 to 5 years with MS/MA or 0 to 2 years with PhD.
  • Over 5 years experience required supporting similar DoD or Space Domain T&E Programs using agile methods for schedule driven development
  • Ability to communicate status with senior Government Leaders at appropriate reviews
  • Minimum TS Clearance required
