We have an exciting Consulting System Engineer opportunity on our team! In this role, you will impact our Service Provider business, which includes traditional Carriers, ISPs, Cable Operators, Mobility Providers, and Cloud Providers. This diverse group of innovative customers will enable you to enhance your knowledge of the business and consumer trends impacting a dynamic industry. You will be able to use your in-depth knowledge to demonstrate your expertise in technologies like SP Networking, SDN, and Automation. Your technical knowledge, sales acumen, and collaborative skills are critical in this role because you will gain the confidence of the business and technical decision makers in our accounts through your ability to articulate the value our solutions bring in addressing our customer's business needs. In addition, your leadership and passion are required to communicate and drive the needs of our customers within Cisco.

In this consultative role, you will be surrounded by passionate sales people who are looking to collaborate with you to win Service Provider business. You will be working with account managers, systems engineers, and sales leaders who will lean on you for your technology and sales expertise to e
!ectively position the solutions, products, and technology required to make our customers successful. Your customer base will include demanding, innovative technologists and leaders who want to diiferentiate their business and gain market share. And, you will build relationships with very talented technical and business leaders in Cisco Engineering.

Who You Are
* You have 8+ years related experience working with Cisco products, solutions and technologies - preferably in a pre-sales role within a Service Provider environment. * BS/BA (EE/CS) or equivalent, CCIE certi
"cation highly desirable/preferred.
* This position requires travel and the candidate should be prepared to handle the varying needs related to this position.

 

* Provide technical sales support to include both high-level and detailed consultative solutions and product information for selected account opportunities.
* Understand business requirements for our customer base and possess the ability to translate them into technical requirements.

* Understand and Articulate Cisco's Architectures and Services.
* Facilitate communications and understanding of customer requirements between customers, CDO and the
"eld sales.
* Create, present and document technical solutions.
* Perform in-depth and high-level technical presentations for customers, partners and prospects (i.e. technical consulting, upper level management presentations, Cisco technology solutions, product requirements and design validation).
* The candidate should possess a level of con
"dence necessary to "own the room" while remaining collaborative and open minded.
* Account planning and interpersonal skills are critical as the successful CSE will be expected to help close identifi
ed account opportunities while allowing the local account team to maintain long-term ownership.
* Participate on selected Virtual Teams and Architecture teams while mentoring Systems Engineers and working on assigned opportunities. Be viewed as a leader by senior management, peers, partners and customers.
* Publish white papers on given topics for internal or external use.
* Continually gather product requirements and submit fi
ndings to BUs and LOBs (Lines of Business) to drive Area or Operation business requirements.
* In-depth industry knowledge of the appropriate market segment(s) is desired.
* Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, negotiation and presentation skills are a must. Ability to work e
!ectively, add value as a team member and assume a leadership role for the team.
* Ability to train and disseminate information within the Sales Operation and Area and possess technical knowledge and consultative skills which are above reproach.
* The candidate must have the skill to understand complex technical and selling situations with the ability to solve the problem or solicit the extended team for assistance in order to be successful.
