Supervisors in PPO are responsible for a team of production-based employees who perform provider data loading and/or maintenance by managing individual performance issues through feedback and coaching. In addition to managing staff, this role is responsible for overseeing a large volume of inventory, ensuring it is handled within the appropriate timeframe and with a high level of accuracy. Responsibilities of the Supervisor include reporting, assigning tasks and managing the priority of tasks assigned to staff, and hosting daily team huddles. This role also communicates the status of work, including target completion dates to internal business partners. Supervisors represent the team or department in various meetings related to business topics and issues.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage individual team member performance through feedback and coaching
  • Identify and communicate team priorities to ensure task completion
  • Manage positive employee engagement (eg. Employee Experience action plans, team building, and effective communication)
  • Conduct bi-weekly team meetings
  • Manage inventory to meet expectations set by the business
  • Coordinate work activities with other supervisors, managers, and internal business partners
  • Implement plans identified by management to meet business objectives
  • Collaborate with internal business partners to ensure operational effectiveness
  • Identify and assist in resolution of operational issues by supporting process improvement initiatives
  • Create and maintain reporting for various work functions
  • Participate in the development of policies and procedures
  • Lead or contribute to projects as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience
  • 2 years or more experience within the healthcare industry
  • 1+ years more internal of Leadership experience
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office
  • Experience in managing cross functional projects and/or making presentations
  • Experience coaching or training others on core job functions
  • If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Supervisory experience in a large corporate setting
  • Experience in UHC Platforms
  • Experience utilizing PhyCon
  • Experience in process improvement and root cause analysis
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in tracking, trending and reporting on metrics
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills while managing competing priorities
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
