We have a great opportunity to join the Strategic and Competitive Intelligence team for Workplace Solutions at Prudential. 

Strategic Intelligence provides essential, unbiased, timely, relevant, fact-based and forward-looking perspective on the strategic and competitive landscape that empowers senior leaders across the organization to:

The team drives the creation and optimization of a strategic and competitive intelligence engine for Workplace Solutions, which can enable Prudential to drive customer-centric growth and innovation, unlock opportunity, and fulfill our mission of delivering the partnership, solutions and support people and organizations need to secure a future of financial wellness.    

Position Summary:

We are looking for an innately curious, highly analytical and motivated professional to support the strategic and competitive intelligence capability for our workplace businesses (Retirement and Group Insurance). This individual will be responsible for working with senior leaders, internal teams, external vendors and multiple data, information and intelligence sources to execute research and analytics, create presentations and deliver actionable insights that can impact the organizations overall success and strategy.

The position reports directly to the VP of Strategic Initiatives.    

Job Responsibilities:  

  • Conduct ongoing strategic and competitive research to systematically track industry and competitor developments, understand trends, and proactively identify emerging threats and opportunities for the business
  • Regularly publish, present, and communicate intelligence and findings to a broad audience
  • Build and maintain a competitive intelligence database and drive creation of core competitive intelligence artifacts (battle cards, competitive landscape reports, profiles, weekly reports etc.)
  • Analyze and synthesize data, information and knowledge from internal and external sources into compelling insights-driven, fact-based stories and presentations with an emphasis on the "so what"
  • Assist with the execution of longer-tail strategic and competitive intelligence projects by developing project plans and collaborating closely with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Drive, manage and optimize knowledge management and operations for the team to increase efficiencies and return on investment through vetting of sources, leveraging of technology and creation of routinized processes and self-serve capabilities.
  • Advance and drive positive culture and performance by leaning in with new ideas, proactively embracing diversity, inclusion and customer-centricity, leading with a team vs I mindset, and owning accountability for continuous improvement and better outcomes

  • Bachelors degree required; Masters degree a plus
  • Proven record of leadership in academic, community or professional settings 
  • 0-2 years of professional experience, preferably in an analytical, strategic or research role 
  • Experience in business or financial services, with an understanding of the Group Benefits and/or Retirement market a plus 
  • Excellent research, critical thinking, logic and analytic skills 
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with ability to break down complex ideas and convey them concisely and clearly in both oral and written form 
  • Ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify the so-whats and synthesize and package information from multiple sources and summarize findings efficiently and effectively 
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel 
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, Tableau or other data analytics tools or programs a plus 
  • Attention to detail and ability to deliver high quality work within defined timelines 
  • Passion and aptitude for creative problem solving 
  • Positive attitude and desire to take accountability and learn and improve continuously 
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, able to juggle competing priorities
