Position Description:

This position is responsible for administering sales and use taxes with a focus on the production of timely and accurate data for the company’s co-source compliance provider. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Senior Tax Analyst to ensure completion of day-to-day tax operations in the Corporate Tax Department. Primary responsibilities include organization, compliance, balance sheet account reconciliation and record retention.  Support the co-source compliance provider in the preparation, filing and payment of company and subsidiary indirect taxes to include sales/use taxes, gross receipt tax returns, state excise taxes, property taxes and business licenses.  Provide expert-level support to senior staff accountants and other team members with tax-related questions and concerns.  This position requires the highest level of professionalism, integrity and teamwork from an individual who is positive, responsible and dependable.


  • 80% Tax Planning, Accounting, Research, Compliance, and Audit Defense as needed to meet the goals of the Department. May serve as principal contact on one or more projects with governmental officials, outside counsel, and business partners. May lead or participate in special studies to determine tax implications of company operations. May be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely filing of tax returns, and for the accurate statement of accounting reserves, including ASC450/FAS5 where applicable. May serve as liaison between SSC and subsidiary businesses in the US and internationally. 

  • 10% Participation on cross-functional teams as a subject-matter expert 

  • 10% Coaching and mentoring of associates in the department


  • Reports to Tax Manager or Senior Manager 

  • No associates report to this role on a permanent basis, but requires the leadership of a work group: assign and review work, train and contribute to performance appraisal (but not hiring, firing or disciplinary action).


    Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
    Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.



  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.

  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

    Education Required:
    The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

    Years of Relevant Work Experience:
    2 years

    Physical Requirements:

    Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

    Additional Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate technical tax skills appropriate for the years of experience in the one or more tax disciplines.

  • Demonstrate leadership and interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage and implement multiple complex projects, people management, and communications to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Proven analytical and problem resolution skills.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA, CMI preferred

  • 3-5 years Experience Preferred

  • Proficient advanced knowledge and skill using Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word and Microsoft Excel

  • Flexibility in meeting multiple goals
