**Team Description:**


The End User Services team at Xandr is responsible for the networks, systems and services that support our corporate employees around the world. Items under our purview include corporate networks, email, video-conferencing, wiki, ticket tracking, finance systems and corporate VPN services. We select the hardware, software and services that best fit our employee needs, then implement, architect and support them. This gives our SAs exposure to systems and techniques that they wouldnt find at most companies. This is a fast-paced and engaging environment where you will have a chance to work with and help shape a rapidly growing, world class IT team.


**Roles and Responsibilities:**


+ Lead a team of experienced Systems Administrators to help engineer and provide proof-of-concept technical solutions for various project and operational needs.

+ Manage servers and configure hardware, services, settings, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project or operational requirements.

+ Research and recommend innovative, and where possible, automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.

+ Identify areas of operation where automation can increase efficiency and decrease human error and implement a solution to do so

+ Evaluate new versions of software/technologies and provide and implement any changes and tasks necessary to leverage it for operations or project needs

+ Identify potential security risks and propose practical mitigation measures

+ Assess several, often conflicting constraints and make rapid decisions in a dynamic environment

+ Provide technical leadership in planning, development, and execution of project and software efforts

+ Participate in 24X7X365 support of critical Corporate systems


**Operations and Support:**


+ Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.

+ Provide round-the-clock troubleshooting and support for a global business.

+ Review regular security reports to identify any possible violations.

+ Provide support per request from various constituencies.Investigate and troubleshoot issues.

+ Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies.

+ Create new procedures for the team and focus on updating existing documentation for the team.

+ Ability to engage other teams during outages or planned maintenance.


**Maintenance:**


+ Maintain operations runbooks, configuration, or other procedures.

+ Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.

+ Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. This requires using various performance tuning tools to identify bottlenecks internal and external to the system.

+ Provide support for datacenter maintenance and operations as needed.


**Key Competencies and Skills:**


+ 5+ years of Linux experience in supporting Debian-based distributions such as Ubuntu

+ 5+ years in configuration management tools such as Puppet, Ansible, and Terraform

+ 3+ years administering monitoring tools such as Nagios and/or Check_MK

+ 3+ years writing scalable tools using scripting languages such as Perl, python and shell

+ 3+ years of experience with supporting Atlassian applications such as Jira, Confluence and Bitbucket

+ Familiarity with an Active Directory domains and Windows Server environments

+ Familiarity with Git and other source control tools are required

+ Familiarity with using AWS or Azure is preferred but not required


**Education and Qualifications:**


+ Experience with team management and project coordination.

+ In depth understanding of distributed application architecture.

+ In depth understanding of DNS and Networking concepts.

+ Have an understanding of different web services and troubleshooting skills.

+ Have experience using LDAP as a backend for access and authorization.
