In the Client Services and Operations division at Edward Jones, youll focus on creating the ideal client and branch experience. From account opening, to trade settlement and movement of client cash and securities, to statement production and tax reporting, Operations is involved every step of the way. As the backbone of the branch, your work will support all client transactions and processing through the life cycle of the client relationship. Through strategic thinking and cross-functional collaboration, youll continuously identify opportunities for operational efficiency and risk mitigation, supporting the firm in its key objectives.

Position: Sr Risk Manager

The Sr. Risk Manager is responsible to assist the division to identify, evaluate, mitigate, and monitor the operational, strategic, financial, and other risk of the division. Executes the risk management program, which includes performing and facilitating risk assessments, connecting the risks across reporting responsibility and assisting divisional Risk Leader in prioritizing risk mitigation efforts. This position will also be working in partnership with many stakeholders including division's leaders and risk representatives from other divisions within the organization.


* Act as an independent advisor for leaders and associates by facilitating the risk assessment process of high-risk areas and processes to ensure the significant risks within the process are addressed, including but not limiting to ethical business practice, company policies, regulatory requirements.
* Advise on control design to mitigate operational risks and be able identify when control environment can be improved.
* Experience in auditing, consulting, or managing controls related to SOX and/or 17a-5 frameworks are highly recommended
* Consolidate and report risk assessment information across areas to allow business and senior leaders to effectively manage the firm/division's risk level
* Advise and assist business process owners on performing root cause analysis and the development of controls to effectively mitigate the identified control gaps
* Develop and perform process, system, and project testing plan to assess system integrity and control effectiveness, including implementing tools and method of risk evaluation
* Prepare risk documentation to assist leaders and other stakeholders in implementing controls to address identified risks on both short-term and long-term
* Assist Risk Leader in developing risk strategy to maximize the firm's benefits whilst minimizing risk exposure, developing processes to control and monitor risk

* Bachelor's degree (business, finance or accounting preferred)
* Series 7 and 99 within 12 months of employment as required by business area
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, as well as other software programs and databases.
* CPA, CIA, CFE, CISA or FRM preferred
* 5+ years public accounting, internal audit, risk management, or internal control experience with comprehensive knowledge of process analysis and control design techniques required
* Public accounting experience highly recommended
* Ability to independently identify, prioritize, monitor, communicate, and/or resolve issues
* Ability to work closely with other individuals at all level within the division and throughout the firm.
* Ability to lead and facilitate risk discussions with various stakeholders within the organization
* Previous direct and cross-functional team leadership skills or project management experience preferred
