Job Title: Sr. Research & Development (R&D) Engineer
Employer: QTG Development, Inc.

Duties: Lead process technical assessments and scale-up tests at manufacturing locations, as well as data collection and analysis, and timely communication of trip reports highlighting results and key next steps. Manage projects through Pepsico's technical stage gate process, highlighting risks and impact and mitigation plans accordingly to deliver new innovation on time, within budget and in compliance with all design specification. Work with and support food safety and quality to ensure all components and process systems are capable of producing and sustaining safe and stable products in accordance with company and government requirements. Identify and lead collaboration efforts to improve efficiency, reduce risk and minimize costs in our processes and systems. Determine and lead internal and external resources to commercialize new products. Identify skill and capability, as well as system gaps when encountered and propose corrective actions including coaching, training courses and new/modified processes, taking into account company systems, processes and requirements. Design and execute design of experiments to screen, model, verify and ensure statistical capability and robustness of pilot and commercial processes. Lead process development activities for the commercialization of new products, processes and technologies for the company. Develop research project plans including scope, design basis, success criteria, timelines, resource needs, critical assumptions, commissioning / start-up plans, and risk analysis. Lead innovation projects from concept to commercialization. Lead multi-functional teams within R&D to develop and execute laboratory and pilot plant tests, and communicate results to leadership. Collect and analyze data using statistical methods. Write analysis reports and make recommendations that deliver product quality, ensure performance expectations, and balance operating and capital costs. Mentor junior engineers.

Job Requirements: Bachelors degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Food Process Engineering or related and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related role. Must have three (3) years of experience with: commercializing food and beverage products through technical and business stage gate processes; developing, testing, and validating pilot-scale processes for food and beverage products; designing, testing and implementing process improvement methods and devices; collaborating with internal and external technical resources and equipment vendors to develop innovative process engineering solutions; and food safety management systems, including HACCP and application to design of food and beverage processes. Must have one (1) year of experience with: developing processing procedures and specifications for juice beverages; and using product vision or other document management (DM) systems to enter and manage process specifications and procedures. Travel required up to 50% of the time.

Work Schedule: 9am to 5pm, 40 hours a week.
