The Sr. Project Manager supports the Medical Management Department by leadingkey initiatives, being the project lead, and continually making recommendations on business needs. The position is responsible for owning the development of project plans, guiding and monitoring organizational performance to plan, identifying factors to determine organizational effectiveness and recommend areas of improvement and enhancement. The position will manage assigned Medical Management projects and meetings and will serve as a key resource with other functional teams across WellMed and OptumCare to execute on business and operational goals.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide Project Management expertise in project planning, execution, and monitoring. Oversees and manages the operational aspects of assigned projects and maintains a project management framework that enables a project core team to successfully execute projects. Maintains and analyzes project schedule and prepares regular status reports for management and key stakeholders. Identify project risks, opportunities and issues and develop resolutions to meet quality and timeline goals and objectives

  • Lead complex projects that require cross functional coordination. Work closely with all departments to accomplish mutual goals and strategies in order to achieve company goals

  • Lead and manage full project life cycle including creation, design, specification, development, implementation, and overall change management
  • ""
  • Set team direction, problem-solve and guide team members as needed
  • ""
  • Identify and analyze trends, strategies and tactics to increase the productivity of the medical management teams to drive positive performance on organizational key performance metrics and improve the customer experience
  • ""
  • Identify opportunities for improved scalability of the organization, including opportunities for increased productivity and reduced costs (e.g. streamlined processes, new roles, workload shift)
  • ""
  • Partner with key stakeholders to ensure projects are aligned with the goals and objectives of the business
  • ""
  • Identify, develop, and present recommendations; lead implementation of approved solutions
  • ""
  • Facilitates long-term planning and oversight to maintain operations of the Medical Management Department assuring activities are appropriately integrated into the strategic direction of the business
  • ""
  • Own and manage SharePoint sites created to support key medical group initiatives as well as audit, compile, and analyze data to create reports for Steering Committees
  • ""
  • Coordinate and facilitate meetings; prepare draft agendas for review with VP, Specialized Clinical Programs or delegate; issue agendas with appropriate backup materials; take minutes, and provide follow-up correspondence

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration or a related field (4+ additional years of comparable work experience beyond the required years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelors degree)
  • ""
  • 4+ years of experience in full life cycle project management experience including project ROI assessment, project team management and change control management, or healthcare operations experience
  • ""
  • Experience with process mapping methodology and creating process maps
  • ""
  • Possession of solid analytical/statistical skills used in evaluating and analyzing data
  • ""
  • Advanced PC skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, Outlook, Share Point, and Business Maps)
  • ""
  • Ability to interact one-on-one and consult with all levels of leadership
  • ""
