The purpose of the product is defined in the product vision. It is the Product Owner who creates this vision, manages it for the entire life of the product and owns the same. The Product Owner has the responsibility of creating a vision so that the development team clearly visualizes the expected outcome by the user. It is the Product Owner who interacts and collaborates with the users to understand their requirements, so that it can be effectively communicated with the team. Also, it is equally significant to communicate to the stakeholders the vision and goals so that they have a clear-cut understanding of the outcome.

The Product Owner has to be very passionate about this product vision. The product vision is not developed at one go but rather over many iterations, and improves over a period of time. The Product Owner makes sure that this product vision is in line with the vision of the company. He / she also creates a product roadmap for this product vision. Roadmap is a visual summary of the vision spread across a period of time. The vision will define the future state of the product and the motivations that the product tries to fulfil.
Responsibility Summary:
* The Product Owner serves as the individual accountable for one or more systems, or sub-components of highly complex product structures. They are responsible for providing leadership and driving a multi-disciplinary and cross-divisional product team to deliver value to internal and external customers of the Firm.
* The role is accountable for the respective product's branch/client experience that necessitates a systems thinking approach.
* This individual aligns strategy to execution through the development and maintenance of their product roadmap, outlining the body of work expected now, next, and in the future.
* This work includes management of system plans and supporting artifacts encompassing resource requirements, stakeholder solution requirements, dependencies, timelines, milestones, and success criteria as necessary to deliver on the promised business value.
* The Product Owner represents the voice of the end user, sets prioritization of features and support, and represents the Product Roadmap and seeding of the backlog for the Product Team.
* This person will help mentor and develop associates to fulfill the product vision, provide input into the assessment and evaluation of the product team, and provide leadership to ensure the Product Team continually achieves a meaningful balance between user needs, business objectives, and technical feasibility.
* Enjoy delivering value to our users by promoting Agile and SAFe principles.
* Serve as the voice of the user when partnering with stakeholders, designers, and the product delivery teams.
* Support the maturity of the agile team by reinforcing SAFe principles, definition of ready agreements for user stories, and transparent communications. Own the deconstruction of features into user stories, and ensure all user stories are vertically sliced and adhere to i.n.v.e.s.t (independent, negotiable, valuable, estimable, small, testable) standards.
* Serve as the leader of the product development team, and partner with the scrum master to ensure the teams' agreements are upheld.
* Serve as the subject matter expert for his/her responsible product, and functions as the main point of contact for stakeholders, external partners and clients, and members of management.
* Sr Product Owner will have additional responsibilities to mentor, coach and develop their direct reports. In addition facilitate regular 1:1 touchpoints, as well as annual review cycle.

*Position Requirements*

* Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management Information System, Computer Science, Related field or equivalent work experience.
* Successful passing of the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam required within 18 months of hire

* Minimum 4+ years of experience in the Agile framework.
* Minimum 4+ years of experience in Product Ownership/Management.
* Strong knowledge of financial services concepts, practices, and procedures, with emphasis on the Product.
* Familiarity with the SAFe principles and delivery framework.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
* Detailed Orientation with strong analytical capabilities
* Ability to overcome ambiguity and delivery results
* Strong leadership skills with ability to influence and direct work in a way that maximizes both personal and team efficiency.
* Teamwork / collaboration mindset with the ability to work with stakeholders throughout the organization and drive toward a decision.
* A robust understanding of full-cycle software development within an Agile framework.
* Product Orientation with a strong sense of ownership.
* The decisions in this position are moderate in impact. Highly complex decisions are typically escalated to leadership or Senior Product Owner.
* Ability to critically analyze problems and identify possible solutions in a timely manner.
* Backlog management. Need to Identify which items to add, prioritize with an understanding of dependencies to other items.
* Ability to collaborate with others in the decision-making process to ensure buy-in by asking for others perspective, creativity and knowledge.
* Ability to provide value chain assessment.
* Proven ability to navigate risks and uncertainties through sound judgement and past experiences.
* Servant leadership focused (e.g. caring for the growth and well-being of everyone we encounter within the organization).
* Be the voice of the customer by knowing their core needs, expectations, product ideas, and concerns.
* Effectively communicate the vision to others.
* Ability to provide product team(s) and stakeholders guidance, transparency, and results through daily/weekly ceremonies and incremental releases.

* Effectively liaise between the different business and technical domains to provide alignment on scope and timelines.
