**ROLE SUMMARY**



The Sr. Mgr./TL Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Safety will oversee administration and development of the EHS program for the Kalamazoo site in Michigan. It is responsible to provide strategic leadership and guidance in achieving EHS related performance objectives and compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, Pfizer standards and industry accepted standards. The incumbent will lead the site to ensure it is fully compliant with Pfizer's standards, local and federal regulations. This role acts as the primary contact to local, regional and state law enforcement agencies. It manages the direction and execution of all safety programs and provides direction, training, and leadership to the safety committees, business unit leaders, and safety contacts. This position scope does not include Process Safety Management nor Emergency Services.



**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**



* Supervisor of the Mgr./TL Industrial Hygiene and Safety and the members of the

Environmental Department.

* Ensure compliance with governmental regulations, Pfizer standards and industry

standards.

* Conduct internal and external benchmarking and lead the implementation of

improvements to the EHS program.

* Oversees all environmental permitting and licensing activities.

* Leads the site Environmental sustainability strategies.

* Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and sustainable results across EHS

projects/programs, assessments and resulting action plans.

* Lead the efforts to assure implementation of identified actions in accordance with

identified target dates.

* Defines and implements the strategic direction for capital projects and facility changes

related to EHS.

* Monitor emerging EHS requirements throughout the industry and initiate proactive gap

closure actions of industry best practices

* Manage and lead the activities of EHS to ensure regulatory compliance, department goals

and initiatives are achieved as well as establish the expectations of culture in the site.

* Ensuring the site has prioritized (risk-based), actionable strategies and that effective

metrics are utilized to monitor progress and performance.

* Experience in managing the department's budget and propose and evaluate capital

investments.



**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**

* BS from an accredited institution in Chemistry, Engineering or related EHS field.

* Minimum 7 years of experience in a relevant industry e.g. chemical, biological or drug

product manufacturing as an environmental professional.

* Minimum of 10 years' experience in leading an EHS team.

* Extensive experience in the Environmental programs such as: Title V air permit, Risk

Management Plan, deep wells, fugitive emission, storm water (NPDES) and PharmaMACT.

* Proven experience effectively communicating and engaging with internal and external

stakeholders including regulatory authorities.

* Detailed expertise in the identification and quantification of environmental releases [e.g.,

material balance, impact assessments], including wastewater management.

* Environmental practitioner with broad technical and regulatory experience, who can

effectively operate in a matrix organization to progress programs.

* Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills

* Excellent Project Management and Problem-Solving skills

* Proficient in MS Office



**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**



* BS from an accredited institution in Chemical Engineering.

* Master's Degree from an accredited institution, with a concentration in Chemistry,

Engineering or Environmental

* Knowledge of relevant Environmental IT business tools, e.g., ENHESA, Enablon, Emissions

Master.

* Experience working across disciplines and senior management in a large global complex

organization

* Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma - Green or Black Belt
