This position is responsible for and works along side the HRD in the following areas: employee relations, recruiting and hiring, leaves of absence, workers comp program, new employee orientation, employee benefits, stay and exit interviews, employment verifications, records management/data integrity, position requires back up of front reception desk for mealand bathroom breaks,and other duties as assigned. The Senior HR Generalist will assist with training and staff development for new hires and current employees (CPR, First Aid, driver training requirements, etc.) and tracking and recording all staff training information.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
* Position requires walking, standing sitting for prolonged periods of time.
* Occasionally lifts up to 10 pounds and carries small objects from waist to chest.
* Must be able to type.
* Ability to distinguish telephone rings and to hear and speak clearly over the telephone.
* Regularly needs to bend, stoop and reach.
* Must be able to speak, read and write.
* Emotional stability necessary to perform the essential functions of the job.

Under the direction of the Human Resources Director, the Senior Human Resources Generalist functions as an HR generalist and strategic partner to support team members and leaders, ensuring alignment of HR support withCedar Springsculture and business objectives. The Sr. HR Generalist provides a broad range of HR support which includes varied, complex and specialized technical and analytical responsibilities, policy administration, performance management, employee orientation, talent acquisition, retention strategies, employee communications, HR project management and, throughout all, enhancing employee engagement/employer of choice goals. Works directly with HR Director on key department projects, and collaborates with other leaders on multidisciplinary initiatives. Must be resourceful and flexible to meet the ever-changing needs of leadership in a dynamic, high performing organization. Demonstrates service excellence behaviors and conveys professionalism at all times. Demonstrates planning and project management skills resulting in high reliability processes and optimal outcomes. Shares accountability for and cross trains to support Human Resources services with the Director.

Employee Engagement

  • Performs routine rounding to understand workplace dynamics, employee/leader concerns, and continuously reinforce and enhanceCedar SpringsHospitalservice excellence and cultural goals.
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention.
  • Plans, organizes and executes employee activities and chairs or participates in committees and task forces for employee engagement survey and targeted events to ensure maximum employee participation and targeted outcomes.
  • Serves as back-up for new employee orientation ensuring optimal employee experience and improved engagement during on-boarding process.

HRIS/Data Integrity/Compliance

  • Responsible for the accurate and timely maintenance, processing, tracking involving HR procedures and systems which include Lawson, RAS, ePAF, Leaves of Absence, FML, Workers Compensation, 90 day evaluations, Annual Training, Health Stream, Recruiting, Onboarding, New Hire Orientation (to include preparation), Employee Incentive programs, Employment Verifications, General Office Duties
  • Serves as liaison with payroll and collaborates to design/refine agreed upon pay practice strategies and resolve payroll issues.
  • Collaborates with HR team and other leaders to ensure compliance with healthcare regulatory standards and accrediting bodies.

Recruitment/Retention

  • Analyzes and trends HR metrics to develop solutions, programs and policies that improve employee retention. These metrics include: turnover, exit interviews and stay interviews.
  • Serves as Talent Acquisition liaison with assigned services, ensuring proactive recruitment planning and sourcing of qualified candidates.
  • Collaborates with in-house and external marketing resources to provide direction on recruitment and retention marketing strategies that attract and retain qualified candidates.

Operations/Leadership

  • Collaborates with leadership throughout the organization to understand operations, business objectives, short/long term goals, and translate to Human Resources support initiatives and tactics.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to managers (coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions).
  • Partners with HRD to manage and resolve employee relations issues.
  • Serves as primary HR Policy coordinator and provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Partners with HRD to provide guidance and input on job design, organizational structure initiatives, workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Identifies and assists with developing means of meeting training needs for leaders.
  • Partners with HRD to lead performance evaluation process providing technical support to managers and supervisors, and ensuring effective onboarding process implemented consistently throughout the organization.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance ensuring compliance with federal, state and local laws.
  • Must be willing to train and back up front reception desk as needed.

Job Requirements

Certification/Licensure: PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP or CHHR certification preferred.

Professional Knowledge: Strong oral and written communication, performance management, analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to apply high reliability principles ensuring efficient, effective, customer-centered processes and services resulting in targeted outcomes. Demonstrated abilities in project planning and management. Working knowledge of employment law (federal, state, and local). Ability to multi-task with accuracy and attention to detail. Prior experience in Human Resources in a healthcare setting is preferred.

Education/Experience: Bachelor Degree preferred.

Interpersonal Skills: Interpersonal skills to foster a collaborative environment. Promotes mutual respect and professionalism in working relationships. Strong customer relations/customer complaint resolution skills required. Must maintain high level of confidentiality. Must be willing to interact with employees on patient units as necessary.

Equipment, Applications and Tools Knowledge: Advanced proficiency with MS Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. Proficiency in using standard office equipment.

Travel Requirements: Occasional to interact with staff at off-site locations and/or visit educational institutions and other recruitment sites.
