Under the direction of the Human Resource Director, the Senior Human Resources Generalist functions as a generalist and strategic partner to align business objectives with employee and management. The Sr. HR Generalist provides a broad range of HR support which includes varied, complex and specialized technical and analytical assistance with policy administration, performance management, employee orientation, leave of absence administration, turnover and retention analysis, salary and wage administration, and Employee Engagement Survey analysis. Works directly with HR Director on key department projects. Must be resourceful and flexible to meet the ever-changing needs of leadership. Demonstrates service excellence and conveys professionalism at all times with strong motivation to achieve optimum results.

Employee Engagement

  • Performs employee rounding to develop positive respectful relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention.
  • Plans, organizes and executes employee activities and chairs or participates in committees and task forces for employee engagement survey, holiday events, and service awards to ensure maximum employee participation.
  • Conducts new employee orientation ensuring optimal employee experience and improved engagement during on-boarding process.

Maintenance/Tracking

  • Responsible for the accurate and timely maintenance, processing, tracking of HR procedures and systems which include Lawson, RAS, ePAF, Leaves of Absence, Workers Compensation, Unemployment Compensation, I-9 audit, 90 day evaluations.
  • Payroll administration and resolution of payroll issues.
  • Responsible for monthly audit reports and human resources metrics.

Recruitment/Retention

  • Analyzes and trends HR metrics to develop solutions, programs and policies that improve employee retention. These metrics include: turnover, exit interviews and stay interviews.
  • Manages the recruitment of qualified candidates for assignment positions.
  • Assists with in-house and external marketing resources to provide direction on recruitment and retention marketing strategies that attract and retain qualified candidates.

Operations/Leadership

  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance ensuring compliance with federal, state and local laws.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to managers (coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions).
  • Provides support during benefits enrollment.
  • Partners with HRD to manage and resolve employee relations issues.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Partners with HRD to provide guidance and input on restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Identifies training needs for management.
  • Leads performance evaluation process providing technical support to managers and supervisors.
  • Partners with HRD on policies and procedure roll-out and interpretation.
Job Requirements

Certification/Licensure: PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP or CHHR certification preferred.

Professional Knowledge: Strong oral and written communication, performance management, and analytical skills. Working knowledge of employment law (federal, state, and local). Ability to multi-task with accuracy and attention to detail. Prior experience in Human Resources in a healthcare setting is preferred.

Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree required

Interpersonal Skills: Interpersonal skills to foster a collaborative environment. Promotes mutual respect and professionalism in working relationships. Strong customer relations/customer complaint resolution skills required. Must maintain high level of confidentiality.

Equipment, Applications and Tools Knowledge: Computer proficiency with MS Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint to include email, spreadsheets, database entry, and use of various of office equipment- PC, copier, printer, scanner.
