The Global Engineering, Sterile Injectable Engineering Team Lead is responsible for providing engineering leadership to the Pfizer Global Supply, Global Sterile Injectables Operating Unit (GSI OpU) through a team of project managers and subject matter experts (SMEs). This leader will work closely with GSI OpU leaders, site leaders and other groups in Engineering and Global Technology & Engineering (GT&E) to ensure the success of engineering programs, projects, and technical support needed for new and in-line products. This leader will also have strong connections to other above-site functions including Quality, Global Environmental Health & Safety, Global Supply Chain, Procurement, and Finance.

Additionally, the leader will advance Global Engineering's mission to be a strategic business partner by providing quality, value-added, innovative solutions for Pfizer capital investments and engineering operations. + Provide support and leadership to the GSI OpU Site Engineering Leaders and the Global Engineering Sterile Injectable team

+ Develop and promote key engineering strategies

+ Ensure within teams that there is strong technical expertise in Engineering, Maintenance, Asset Optimization, Utility Operations, Equipment Design and reliability and Project Management

+ Understand the business needs and ensure that GSI capital requirement and plan is meeting the strategic needs and is align with PGS capital plan

+ Support SI major capital projects in alignment with the Capital Program Leader

+ Support and, if required, lead site capital projects in alignment with the sites.

+ Lead, in alignment with the OpU leaders and sites, the capital program for the GSI OpU to ensure proper business-driven projects are identified and executed across the network

+ Develop Site Master Plan for all GSI OpU sites

+ Define long term engineering requirements for the GSI OpU network

+ Communicate across the organization; foster and promote exchange of information and best practices

+ Apply new, innovative and untried approaches to achieve targeted performance and results

+ Work with a variety of people and cultures to achieve targeted objectives and results

+ Continue to optimize EMU operational costs

+ Ensure a robust talent planning process is in place in Global Engineering and across the engineering teams at the sites; provide opportunities for Engineering colleagues across the network

+ Create a vision for the OpU's Engineering & Maintenance, provide understanding of the derived benefits and translate the vision into shorter term strategies and objectives; inspire people toward the vision and influence stakeholders into action

+ Champion implementation of Engineering standards and processes for the GSI OpU that bring efficiencies and consistency

+ Assess performance at sites to ensure compliance and identify enhancements

+ Provide technical vision for the future of sterile manufacturing through technology roadmap development

+ Provide product supply assurance at GSI OpU sites through the SME team supporting troubleshooting, investigations, and equipment upgrades

+ Control of schedules and priorities of Engineering projects at the GSI OpU sites

+ Prepare and manage the team annual budget

+ Be an active member of the Global Engineering Leadership Team and provide input to the overall engineering strategies


Bachelors' Degree in Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or related science

Masters' Degree in Engineering or Business Administration preferred

12-15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry with relevant experience in Design, Construction, Commissioning of Pharmaceutical or Chemical of Food Manufacturing Facilities and Plant Engineering Operations. The candidate should demonstrate both technical and business skills with the proven capability of effectively implementing business strategies and work collaboratively with all levels of the organization
