Auto req ID: 245803BR Job Description PepsiCo Data and Digital Product Management Team Overview The team is tasked with articulation of the vision, execution and implementation of PEPs next generation global data and digital infrastructure. The projects will manifest as platforms which enable all sectors as well as specific business solutions within the sector. The product team will not only be responsible for delivering data and software solutions but will also be accountable for the resultant business improvement and outcomes. Position Overview The team has recently outlined the initial five-year roadmaps for all top priority data and digital initiatives across PepsiCo globally. These plans have begun in some areas and other initiatives are still in early stages of ideation and design. For both existing and emerging plans, success will entail establishing and standardizing an operational and delivery cadence to track and communicate progress to all leaders across all Sectors and business units. These product delivery protocols are not native to PepsiCo and require the establishment of delivery management professionals to educate, train and instantiate standard agile delivery procedures, ceremonies, engineering execution mechanisms and associated tracking to make progress against milestones and communicate this progress to all levels of the org. Ultimately, this leader is responsible for leading and managing multiple large-scale, technical, complex, cross-functional programs and projects leveraging traditional Program/Project Management standards and Agile & Scrum methodology best practices across the portfolio. The role is particularly important at PepsiCo as our operating model is inherently matrixed across Sectors, business units (and associated business owners) and multiple strategy initiatives all being orchestrated by teams in the center (such as Strategy & Transformation). Key Accountabilities Drive strategic alignment on vision, objectives, and direction for the Program Management team. Coach and mentor teams based on modern agile principles. Apply these principles not only in product development execution, but across all aspects of culture including communication, experimentation, and promoting business outcomes. Own, define, hire and mentor the necessary functions to ensure team success. These roles will include Technical Program Managers, Project Managers, Release Managers, and Agile Transformation Leads, etc. Drive and inspire a cultural shift to learning, driving customer value and accelerating adaptive leadership using rapid feedback loops. Co-create and define the systems, processes and tools necessary for success of the program. Define and drive executive steering committees to remove major roadblocks and improve communication across global programs and teams. Design, own and deploy a world class portfolio management framework to create high focus for development team capacity, dependency management, and risk mitigation strategy (along with associated KPIs and progress tracking). Deploy engineering frameworks to manage the delivery funnel from ideation to delivery. Deploy solutions to track proposals, manage engineering allocation and associated funding. Drive day-to-day program activities to ensure product releases are tracking to schedule and meeting objectives. Establish and own key deliverables for successful management and communication of progress across technical roadmap delivery, executive updates and map out the structure and cadence of various operating mechanisms (from daily agile stand-up to monthly sprint planning to recurring executive steering committees and updates). Communicate product updates across the organization including risks and key dependencies. Develop and iterate on standard methodologies for cross-team collaboration and increase development efficiency. Be a champion for agile practices. Assess operational processes to identify potential areas of conflict and develop options to solve/improve. Use agile program practices and methodologies to drive continuous value-driven delivery across the organization. Manage and take corrective action to deliver projects that meet scope, schedule, cost and quality expectations Develop KPIs and quantitatively track success of the program. Implement demo days, product increment planning and executive stakeholder reviews. Inspire teams to employ consistent collaboration tools & frameworks. Implement methodologies to track baseline team performance and identify patterns that need to be amplified or changed. Provide collaboration tools strategy to enable portfolio, product and team visualization dashboards, project lifecycle management using tools such as Betterworks, Azure DevOps/ JIRA, Confluence, Tableau, etc. Deploy best in class plugins to provide insights for faster decision making. Transform our agile teams into self-empowered mission driven squads. Qualifications/Requirements 10-20 years of program management leadership experience in complex global, matrixed organizations. History of delivery in complex matrixed environments with broad stakeholders at all levels of the organization. A history of managing teams with multiple layers of management across varied technical disciplines. Deep experience with agile methodologies and an ability to apply the appropriate framework to fit the context. Technical degree preferred. Skills, Abilities, Knowledge: Outstanding communication skills with success conveying recurring progress to executives in a concise and effective manner. Product mindset with a propensity to quantify results in terms of business outcomes. The ability to not just manage a program but a desire to go deep into both technical details of the solution and validation of outcomes. An ability to build trust-based relationships with leaders across various businesses and regions with varied styles and backgrounds. Adept at organizing and leading teams across business, engineering, product management, finance, legal etc. to support and implement programs. Ability to identify cross project interdependencies and risks, and successfully plan and manage both. Executive presence and the ability to communicate complex topics succinctly. Understands both the engineering and business side of the Data Products released. Deep experience communicating to large global, digital audiences and organizations. Teams up and collaborates for speed, agility, and innovation Expertise with agile methodologies and related frameworks.
