PHS is looking for a Senior Director, Women's Health Product Management to lead the portfolio of Womens' and family health across all markets.

S/He will be responsible for the management of all existing and future products by leading a strong growth portfolio of health and digital products and services supported by robust business rationales, and by working closely with other senior executives on portfolio execution. The Sr Director, Product Management will be responsible for putting in place the processes, tools, and operating mechanisms required of a strong customer and market data backed product management organization with clear business objectives and rationales as well as a strong product and execution discipline. S/He will be an experienced leader able to develop, mentor, and motivate his/her own organization. This position builds relationships with and influences varying levels of internal and external stakeholders and requires a strong team-focused approach with direct interactions with senior executives, customers, and often requires internal and external presentations.

Demonstrated business acumen, customer focus, and a strong track record of leading teams having successfully managed women's health products and services are essential to the success of this position. The Sr, Director Women's is also expected to have expert knowledge of the women and family healthcare landscape, commercialization of products, and familiarity with the clinical and technical aspects of product development. This position reports directly to the VP, Product Management and is a key leadership role within PHS.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Management of PHS portfolio of products focused on Women's Health
  • Ensure growth, profitability and delivering best in class products of a suite of products ~$200M in revenue
  • This role will manage FTE's across the following programs; Fertility, Maternity support, OBHomeCare, NICU and First year of life for UHC, External payers and employers
  • Be the voice of Optum's Women's Health offerings both internally and externally
  • Develop and maintain long-term product plans for the portfolio including comprehensive product roadmaps supported by robust business rationales
  • Shape a growth-focused Product Management organization by building, mentoring, and leading a cross-functional team inclusive but not limited to Product Managers
  • Act as the leading voice of customer research, multi-generational product definition, product features and performance requirements and tradeoffs, product value proposition and business case, support of internal teams during product development and operationalization, provide active support for product launch, and optimization of business performance until product end-of-life
  • Ensure that products meet established long-range goals
  • Responsible for specific product results (P&L, ROI, NPS, Affordability)
  • Work across Operational, Clinical, Technology, Growth, Finance and Go-to-Market organizations in support of Women's Heatlh product and services
  • Responsible for interoperability with adjacent products to ensure a comprehensive consumer experience
  • Work with the business to build and maintain forecasts, monitoring product delivery and quality issues, examining the competitive landscape, interacting with and influencing key opinion leaders, and providing support to the client services team as needed
  • Partner with other senior product and non-product leaders to identify business opportunities that will a) improve product offering and b) set the vision and growth strategy
  • Cultivate relationships with key external opinion leaders and strategic partners to support PHS objectives
  • Stay abreast of all core projects and status; includes proactive management of project funding and other key resources, as well as proactive risk management and identification of cross-project synergies, opportunities and efficiencies
  • Provide hands-on leadership to a group (2-3) Product Leaders
  • Build a product culture which understands the importance of rapid testing and learning

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience with product development and/or commercialization
  • 5 years of lifecycle product management or P&L management experience
  • Experience in maternal and/or family health
  • Self-starter with the demonstrated ability to lead a team to create and articulate a strong product vision and strategy and carry it all the way to tactical planning and successful execution in a dynamic healthcare market
  • Successful track record of achieving product line and company goals in a high-growth and highly competitive healthcare field
  • Health Plan experience developing or managing digital products
  • Demonstrated experience managing and commercializing complex products and solutions in the payer, employer and provider markets
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively translate a large amount of complex customer, clinical, market, and technical data from multiple sources into a clear value proposition and to articulate and communicate this value proposition to a range of customer and internal audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to understand product economics to drive both top line and profitable growth
  • Strong focus on and experience in digital health products and working with vendors to design comprehensive integrated solutions
  • Passion for healthcare and helping diverse people with chronic conditions live better
  • The flexibility to quickly adapt and produce in a rapidly changing environment, meeting aggressive market and customer expectations
  • A passion for both giving and receiving feedback in an innovative teamwork environment
  • Proven ability to build relationships and work effectively as a leader and peer with other senior functional managers including Technology, Strategy, Clinical, Operations, Sales, Finance, Legal, and Business Development
  • Demonstrated strong people management and influencing skills with proven ability and enthusiasm to lead, motivate, inspire, develop, and encourage people, from C-level suite to individual contributors in multiple functional areas
