**ROLE SUMMARY**



+ Director, Compliance Global Security Anti-Counterfeiting Lead, is a Global leadership role.

+ This role will be responsible for overseeing the management of counterfeits and product quality complaints globally but primarily focused in the United States, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region.

+ This role will lead a team that shall develop, implement, manage and refine comprehensive strategies designed to identify counterfeiting threats to Upjohn's portfolio in today's global market place, while facilitating a swift and effective organizational response to ensure patient safety or brand integrity.

+ This role will directly report to Vice President of Compliance based in APAC or US.



**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Strategy** **development and implementation:**



+ Lead and oversee the development and implementation of anti-counterfeit strategies, policies and procedures designed to protect Upjohn brands.

+ Forecast potential risks of Upjohn brands and collaborate with other disciplines, as needed, to develop strategies to identify, manage and mitigate risks.

+ Proactively identify and deploy intelligence gathering capabilities from the internet, social media, e-commerce, investigative reports, industry trends, and other open-sources. Produce smart, predictive analytics and provide visualization of results.

+ Manage counterfeiting cases initiated through product complaints, law enforcement agency referrals and initiated internally through Global Security, utilizing incident management software, and other investigative analysis tools.

+ Using advanced analytics, conduct continuous analysis of multiple data sources to link seemingly unrelated incidents, identify new activity and evolving trends. Provide ongoing reports, fostering continuous improvement in data collection systems and reports provided.

+ Coordinate closely with and evaluate services of outside consultants, information providers and other external investigational resources to support intelligence analysis for internet monitoring and other product security programs.

+ Build a standardized function throughout Upjohn by partnering with business units and functions to develop and implement corporate security standards, guidelines and procedures for anti-counterfeiting at a global level.



**Thought leadership and collaboration:**



+ Provide guidance and advice to Upjohn leadership, Function leadership and other key stakeholders to mitigate the risk or reduce the potential of anti-counterfeiting cost; serves as principal adviser to Leadership Team.

+ Deliver high-level presentations, speeches and briefings to senior government officials, organizations in industry and academic fields, and media outlets, with emphasis on counterfeit pharmaceuticals as one of the compliance leaderships.

+ Establish and maintain liaison with international and national intelligence police, security and other law enforcement agencies at the corporate levels.



**Performance management and improvement:**



+ Develop and generate metrics s to assess performance, in order to communicate and quantify function's value to the organization.

+ Identify and leverage technology to improve performance and reduce risks and cost.



**Team management:**



+ Build and lead a team that focuses on developing and deploying anti-counterfeit strategies in support to all Upjohn Global key business activities.

+ Develop a future team that is purpose/value-driven and aligns to Upjohn's culture.

+ Lead, manage, direct, develop, and coach direct reports focused on corporate governance strategies, projects and initiatives.

+ Provide clear guidance and directions through full-scope leadership to enable direct reports deliver team targets, Upjohn compliance requirements and Upjohn corporate value.



**QUALIFICATIONS**

Indicate qualifications that are job related, consistent with business necessity and necessary for the performance of an essential function of this role including: education/licenses/certifications, relevant experience (where legally permissible), technical and/or other job-related skills.

**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**



+ Bachelor's degree required and advanced degree (Masters, MBA, JD) is preferred.

+ A minimum of 15 year experience in private sector corporate security or related public sector.

+ A minimum of 5 year management experience in the field of security is also required.

+ Solid understanding of security concerns and needs of a major pharmaceutical company, with ability to balance needs between business and security.

+ Demonstrated ability to interact with and facilitate changes among senior management, division management and business unit partners and to coordinate with other senior business leaders within Upjohn to reach an aligned view of compliance security needs.

+ Strategic thinker; ability to distill complex issues and develop innovative approaches to leverage opportunities and/or mitigate risk in assigned markets.

+ Ability to make decisions and solve problems by developing innovative solutions or perform root cause analysis and act accordingly to resolve issues.

+ Strong interpersonal, spoken and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, communicate at highest level of compliance and business and with internal cross-function teams.

+ Have an established track record of coalition building in complex environment.

+ Organization, prioritization and project management skills.



**OTHER QUALIFICATIONS**



+ Experience within a global security footprint.

+ Able to flexibly operate in dynamic environment and respond to all standard and ad-hoc requests.

+ Ability to work in a global and cross-function environment.

+ Travel required to other Upjohn campuses for meetings with management and key stakeholders; international travel periodically required (based on core customer group) in order to ensure effective engagement of key stakeholders.
