Primary Responsibilities:

  • Owns one or many products where investment is primarily funded via capital or business projects
  • Ensures product's roadmap aligns to business strategy and supports service delivery
  • Interprets data to make decisions and provides recommendations to leadership for Product Management strategy
  • Owns correlated product's management documentation
  • Leverages data to build business cases for product investment, Translates product capabilities to delivered value across all Programs, Regularly interacts with Program Management to understand Client needs
  • Translates Program needs into actionable plans
  • Understands key value and cost indicators, Compiles analysis and prepares ROI and/or CBAs for project funding, collaborates with internal stakeholders to define financial benefits, Articulates how product feature costs and value support the business case
  • Articulates how their product's capabilities ties into the overall product suite, Engages with IT stakeholders to ensure product changes align with IT strategy, Understands basic security and network standards that support company products, manages product to technical performance KPIs, provides data and input to IT strategic initiatives
  • Identifies key internal stakeholders and actively fosters relationships to collaborate on strategy, challenges and opportunities, sets clear and realistic expectations, Facilitates communication across multiple stakeholders to ensure alignment
  • Develops capability and business expertise to establish credibility, develops a compelling case based on facts, acts decisively and takes ownership of actions, adapts personally to rapid change in direction, identifies the pros and cons of decisions and appropriate courses of action
  • Knowledgeable on product's key data points and metrics, maintains objectivity when interpreting data, uses data to develop and evaluate courses of action, Makes fact-based proposals on how to address customer needs
  • Continually improves management style and documentation, Focuses on speed to value, manages roadmap to an iterative approach
  • Advocate for innovative, consumer centric and consistent experiences
  • Drives and evangelizes experience thought leadership in the organization
  • Mentors and develops talent in colleagues throughout the organization

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business, IT, MIS, computer science, human centered design, experience design or related field or equivalent work experience
  • A minimum of 4 years relevant work experience in product, process or experience field
  • Equivalent combination of education, experience and/or applicable military experience will be considered
  • Working knowledge of agile development framework and human centered design and product life cycle
  • Strong skills in planning, budgeting, feasibility analysis, return on investment estimation and realization, and performance measurement and reporting
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management and change management skills
  • Has strong presentation skills and the ability to interact with and win support from team members at varying levels cross company
  • Self motivation, excellent communication, an open mind, the ability to thrive in multidisciplinary teams, and the skills to balance great design with short deadlines
  • Employees are required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener prior to entering the work site each day, in order to keep our work sites safe. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in managing digital platforms in the health care industry and/or federal contracting industry
  • Superb information design abilities, fastidious and efficient production and optimization habits, and impeccable problem solving skills
  • Green Belt or Black Belt with experience in Six Sigma, Lean and other process improvement disciplines
  • Adobe Creative Suite experience
  • Proficiency in design tools (e.g. Axure, Invision, UXPin among others)
  • Strong digital experience capability and command of process, usability and design principles, as well as digital channel best practices
  • Experience in project management or portfolio management
  • Experience in the consumer facing copywriting / editing field
  • Human centered design proficiency
  • Exhibits a high degree of ingenuity, creativity and resourcefulness and works well with ambiguity
  • Deep passion for digital products and channels, constantly keeping abreast of latest trends, best practices and competitive activity
