**ROLE SUMMARY:**

The Senior Associate Scientist will be part of a team of scientists focused on manufacturing, testing and support activities for mammalian and microbial GMP cell banks used in the manufacture of vaccines, cell and gene therapy and protein Biotherapeutics. The incumbent will perform cell culture and cryopreservation activities required for cell bank manufacturing, as well as, support storage and shipping activities. Additionally, support cell bank raw material needs and seek areas for enhanced work practice efficiency and implement identified solutions.



The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal, teamwork, and collaboration skills. In addition, possesses strong workload planning skills, organization, and attention to detail, and follow through. Problem-solving and trouble shooting skills are essential for this role. The successful candidate also must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, have the ability to prioritize and multi-task concurrent project demands. Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office required e.g. MS Word, MS Excel and familiarity with GDMS, SAP, QTS, LIMS systems are also a plus.



**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**



+ Contribute as a key member of the Cell Banking team to support the manufacture, storage and shipping operations for cGMP cell banks.

+ Perform cell culture activities for manufacturing of cell banks.

+ Apply strong attention to detail, strictly adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and use knowledge of cell bank manufacturing, storage, and shipping requirements to advance projects under rapidly shifting priorities and timelines.

+ Apply cGMP documentation practices to effectively document all activities as required and appropriate; authors technical reports as needed.

+ Demonstrate working knowledge of Quality Systems/standards and apply these to make sound and compliant decisions.

+ Lead scientific, technical, strategic and cGMP compliance initiatives to implement changes in working practices.

+ Demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.



**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**



+ Bachelor's Degree with 2-5 years of lab experience or Master's Degree with 0-2 years lab experience with a concentration in a life science or related field

+ Experience with mammalian and microbial cell culture and GMP manufacture.



**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**



+ Aseptic technique

+ Microbial and mammalian cell culture skills

+ Knowledge of cGMP and regulatory compliance requirements

+ Knowledge of cell bank raw material requirements preferred

+ Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment

+ Ability to clearly and concisely communicate to broad audiences and customers

+ Excellent documentation skillsSelf-motivated and highly effective in a team-based environment
