Pfizer's Customer and Commercial Creation Center (C&CCC) team develops, launches and supports all externally facing digital (web, mobile, omni-channel, & device) products, platforms, services, and experiences, servicing all external customer types at Pfizer.

C&CCC's Platform DevOps team are accountable for the platforms that enable all the above activity by defining the necessary standards, processes and technologies and bringing them all together as a service.

This position is on the Newton & Marketing Automation platform team. This platform enables the creation and management of all our mobile assets as well as the management of customer data managed for those apps or as applies to the emails that C&CCC's applications need to send.

As Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving our standards and ability to release apps to the app stores. You will operate and own parts of our publishing pipeline and ensure that key app deployments are successful. You will handle issues and ensure that they are resolved. You will manage change in the Apple and Google landscape and technological dependencies and how the impact our platform and deployment pipeline. You will understand the implications of the change to technology and process and work with the team to design and implement our response. You will manage communication of these changes to internal stakeholders across multiple channels.


Acquiring a thorough understanding of the platform and applications that our team supports, and the business environment in which the applications are used.

Establishing close partnerships within the Platform, Operations and App delivery teams to ensure alignment in all areas of app publishing strategy, process, operational needs, DevOps culture and other areas relevant to excellence in the lifecycle of the apps in the app stores.

Establishing comfort with the Google and Apple app store landscape such that you are able to manage change and orchestrate responses that ensure our apps remain compliant with policies and able to be published using our pipeline.

Plan app update and release cycles with platform leads, project leads and stakeholders. Plan and agree scheduled release dates/windows, identify and document deployment risks, decide which risks are acceptable, and put in place risk mitigation plans for those that are not acceptable in collaboration with other colleagues and teams as needed.

Conduct release readiness reviews and go/no-go reviews.

Finalise release activities, checking all records are updated, and creating release summary reports for the project team/stakeholders.


Minimum of 2 years' experience as a mobile app developer, working on moderately complex, integrated projects

Minimum of 1 years' experience working with Hybrid-mobile technologies, preferably Ionic Framework

Demonstrable experience of the Apple, Android app ecosystems and the mechanics and processes of publishing apps to the production app stores. Good knowledge of the challenges, pitfalls and nuances of the app store approval process.

Experience with TestFlight, Fastlane and other similar capabilities

Experience and advanced understanding of source control using git and GitHub

Experience operating in Agile / Continuous Deployment / DevOps environments

Experience using bug management tools (e.g., Jira), test management tools (e.g., Testrail) and collaboration tools (e.g., Confluence, Office 365).


Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to establish relationships, influence outcomes, and communicate effectively to a variety of audiences.

Ability to work with others in a constructive and collaborative manner and influence resources outside of the immediate span of control.
