Who youll work with

Youll work in a team of committed engineers in the Core Software Group (CSG), in an environment full of opportunities to learn.

What youll do

  • Work closely with other specialists to craft, develop and support Routing/Overlays software on Data Center products.
  • Author product and project specifications.
  • Represent your team with other Cisco departments, customers, and industry.
  • Partner with the management team in defining and planning projects.
  • Take a lead role in Ciscos Patent Program.
  • Apply sophisticated networking principles, theories and concepts.

Who you are

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to seek sophisticated problems involving multiple products.
  • Ability to optimally present technological concepts to a wide audience.
  • Ability to influence the development of industry wide standards.
  • Creative problem solving skills and excellent troubleshooting/debugging skills.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Experience and excellent programming skills in C or C++ are a must.
  • Skills in scripting languages (Python, Perl) are a plus.
  • Good understanding of L2/L3 networking fundamentals. Experience in routing protocols such as BGP preferred.
  • Familiarity with and experience on VxLAN or EVPN technologies is a strong plus.
  • Experience working on embedded systems, preferably on Linux/Unix.

Educational Background

Masters degree or Bachelors degree with 3+ years of experience in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related majors
