Security Business Group (SBG) is seeking a Software Engineer for testing & product automation software development in its next generation security platforms. The management platform includes a coordinated, multi-device, web-based solution passionate about configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, event management, visibility, and reports for majority of the security appliances developed within SBG. Special emphasis is placed on usability and ensuring that the product is intuitive, interactive and aesthetically pleasing. Our team will take a fast-paced, iterative approach to development using the Agile process. This is a great opportunity to work on early releases of a brand new product !

The Team

The Security Business Groups Network Threat Defense Team is looking for software engineers to drive development of network security application and services software for security platforms. You will be challenged with a wide variety of projects related to network security and firewall management software development for current and next generation security products.

Role & Responsibilities

• MS/BS in computer science or engineering
• Participate in designing and testing the New/Existing Functionality in the product
• Must demonstrate a system-level focus while understanding the impact of every component
• Should learn new features, technologies and platforms in a relatively short amount of time
• Automate tests using automation libraries and integrate them into regression suites
• Work closely with customer support to provide timely resolution of problems
• Use the Agile process for the software development life cycle
• Participate in technical discussions and provide innovation to the product
• Work with engineering development teams co-located in different geographical locations
• Extremely motivated engineer and passionate about learning and contributing to the team and the business with "can do" attitude
• Identify improvement gaps and areas to help mature the product on its quality

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Networking/Security Domain Testing
• Strong automation background on Python, Perl, Java etc using product APIs
• Solid experience in UI & API based test automation

- Proficient in - TCP/IP networking and network management, IPv6

- Expertise on - Network security (Intrusion prevention / Intrusion detection / NAT / Access-list / IPSEC and SSL VPN / TLS )

- Experience and knowledge on - Routing & Switching (OSPF / BGP / EIGRP / VLAN / STP / DHCP / multicast)

• Should have worked in Virtual technologies (ESXi, KVM, AWS, Azure, OCI)
• Hands-on experience with Legitimate and Malware Application Traffic generator tools, Linux, Windows, Packet tracer, Wireshark and tcpdump Tools
• Experience in DevOps, Continuous integration and Continuous delivery tools are added advantage.
• Strong OS fundamentals, data-path & understanding of performance/space tradeoffs on distributed platforms.

Highly Desired skills:

• Prior experience of platform testing activities.
• Python framework development experience

- Knowledge of Security Technologies - Firewalls, IPS and Web security.

• Cisco product and NXOS, IOS knowledge is helpful.
• Proactive, strong sense of ownership and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Agile software development experience.
