What You'll Do

As a Senior Software Developer/Technical Lead:

• Building sophisticated software solutions that integrate into a variety of embedded devices for the Cisco Enterprise Business Unit
• Responsible for crafting, implementing, and testing high quality, performant software that accurately implements functional requirements for embedded devices.
• Author functional specifications
• Define and refining product requirements
• Participate in and drive innovation at Cisco
• Collaborate across engineering, product, and design teams
• Contribute to leading, developing and growing a team of highly motivated engineers
• Drive execution of software solutions and infrastructure initiatives, continuously setting a higher standard on ease of use, reliability, and scalability
• Define processes and standard methodologies for software engineering and delivery of highly performant products and solutions

Who you are

• Bachelor or Masters Degree in CS/EE, or equivalent experience is required. Any other proven high technology proficiency is desired
• 10+ years software development experience
• Experience with application layer software in embedded systems
• Experience with software algorithms and data-structures that are used to build scalable and efficient runtime behaviour
• Significant knowledge of C, C++, make files and source code repositories (git)
• Knowledge in designing software with multi-threading, event handling and state machines
• Superior coding skills with an emphasis on creating maintainable, high quality software
• Knowledge in software debugging from memory corruption to performance tuning
• Demonstrate a high personal standard for good software development process
• Must be able to demonstrate excellent problem solving skill and ability to learn quickly
• Knowledge of modern operating system design such as multitasking, kernels, filesystems, etc.
• Youve great communication and presentation skills
• Ideally familiar with Netconf, Restconf, and YANG data modeling
