What You'll Do

As a member of the WebEx Teams PaaS Monitoring Engineering team, you will lead a team of Site Reliability Engineers in the development, deployment and support of our Cloud Monitoring platforms to ensure the high availability of our industry leading WebEx Teams Messaging micro-services.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Develop, deploy and support our AppDynamics monitoring platforms and data workflows for improving the delivery, operability, availability, and manageability of our enterprise Collaboration micro-services using Python or Golang and ELK stack (ElasticSearch, Kibana, Logstash), Qlik
  • Solve problems related to operations of these mission critical services and build automation to proactively detect and prevent their re-occurrences
  • Share in the creation and operations of multi-region, multi-datacenter distributed systems
  • Collaborate with application engineering teams in solving operational needs with our services
  • Partake in the periodic on-call duties for provided services

Minimum Qualifications

Who Are You

You are a success driven Lead Site Reliability Engineer or Senior Software Engineer with proven leadership skills who has a passion for enterprise cloud infrastructure automation and DevOps frameworks. You have a proven track record of designing, developing and managing cloud infrastructure Ops code using open source technologies.

Minimum job requirements include the following:

  • US Citizenship is required
  • BS in Computer Science (or equivalent experience) in addition to 10 years of experience with a strong background in either systems engineer or software development with a strong focus on the development of cloud infrastructure automation, orchestration, auto-scaling and micro-services deployment.
  • Fluency in one or more languages of Python, Ruby, Java, or Go and ability to write code to call API's
  • Previous experience with Cloud Monitoring tools such as AppD, New Relic, Datadog, ect
  • Experience working in Unix/Linux operating systems
  • Solid networking skills and familiarity with Unix/Linux systems including cli used in checking component status and logs.
  • Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery.
  • Solid oral and written communication skills
  • Cloud' (using IaaS and PaaS) experience (AWS, GCP and Azure) desirable
  • Configuration management experience with one or more configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, CFEngine and Terraform 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision when required
  • Comfortable with Agile methodologies and working within small teams
  • Experience delivering always-on customer focused applications (i.e. online 24x7x365)
