Demand Accelerator is a team that represents a transformation of Shopper Insights, Shopper Marketing, Category Leadership, and Space Engineering resources to support Sales and Marketing plans for enterprise, national, and regional customers across the PepsiCo portfolio. The Demand Accelerator helps PepsiCo provide our customers cutting edge data and insights as well as personalized solutions to drive incremental growth for both our customers and PepsiCo.

Help us solve new and exciting questions with data analysis, advanced analytics, and a love of problem solving. As a member of the Advanced Analytics team you will help make shopper insights actionable across the entire PepsiCo portfolio. Your analysis will be used to create new strategies and apply new analytical processes that will be shared with internal PepsiCo teams as well as with major retailers all over the United States.

Key Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:

As a Data Engineer/Data Scientist, you will serve as a critical member of the Shopper Insights team impacting consumers and helping advance the thinking and capabilities of PepsiCo across all brands. You will collaborate in a matrixed environment including technical and business teams to execute projects. You will also manage the data engineering for advanced analytic and capability projects across US retailers and PepsiCo brands.

You will work across groups to create a prioritized list of needs for each business segment. Work with the internal teams to outline the specific data needs for each business analysis project, validating data integrity and solving for anomalies. To do well in this role you need a very fine eye for detail, experience as a data analyst, and understanding of the popular data analysis tools and databases such as SQL, SQL Server, Python, Power BI, and Tableau.

This individual will be responsible for managing and prepping data streams: Shipment, POS, IRI, and Consumer data in support of all the Advanced Analytics Managers and projects, as well as building interactive dashboards and having the aptitude/desire to build machine learning models to solve business problems

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business, Statistics, or a related field

  • 2-3 years of experience with data analytics

  • Must possess an excellent knowledge of SQL and extract data from large and small databases

  • Ability to translate business and technical requirements into non-technical terms

  • Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational databases

  • High-level written and verbal communication skills

  • Provide ad-hoc analysis and deliverables as requested

  • Results oriented with the ability to complete assignments in a timely manner

  • Providing technical expertise on data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint with the ability to quickly learn various in-house applications

  • Detail-oriented with dedication to continuous improvement

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to function well in a team environment

  • Ability to prioritize among multiple priorities

  • Good knowledge of the Beverages and Snacks businesses is preferred

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Cross functional experience working with other functions, e.g., Sales, Marketing, and IT functions

  • Strong analytical skills. Ability to provide insight as well as analysis

  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills and strong influence management

  • Basic programming experience in Python

  • Experience with IRI: building ad-hoc reports

  • Experience using Hadoop/hive, MS Azure

  • Experience using Tableau/Power BI or other Visual Analytics tools

  • Ability to present quantitative data in an easy-to-understand manner that balances both analytics as well as business implications
