The role:

Prudentials Customer Office is seeking an enthusiastic SEO leader with proven expertise in website search optimization, search topic analytics, content creation for search, and deep understanding of website analytics.

 

As Prudential pivots from its legacy focus on enterprise customers to direct to consumer marketing of products and services, we are seeking to overhaul the prudential.com experience to be more welcoming and engaging for our target prospects and customers. A key strategy is to improve our SEO rankings for mission-critical terms relevant for Prudential.com.

 

The SEO Manager role will be instrumental in guiding the evolution and SEO optimization of Prudential.com website properties. The role will serve as an advocate for the SEO channel, guiding Prudential colleagues on SEO marketing best practices to ensure successful keyword targeting to attract qualified visitors and complement paid media campaigns driving to Prudentials retail and enterprise site page.

 

The right person will be able to balance the responsibilities of managing Prudential.coms SERP rankings, manage search partners and vendors, assist business partners with SEO related activities and opportunities, and provide analysis and recommendations for improved SEO performance. The ideal candidate will be a strong strategic thinker with direct marketing experience across SEO/SEM channels.

 

Responsibilities:

  Drive the strategy and implementation of search engine optimization initiatives in support of the Prudential enterprise site to ensure visibility and growth in organic traffic

  Present a strong internal perspective about what constitutes good SEO, and implement processes that ensures teams throughout Prudential are adhering to best practices

  Lead an external SEO agency to monitor and transform data into actionable insights to inform tactics to improve search engine coverage and traction

  Provide weekly reporting on prospect and customer organic rankings, and deep dives on particular industry trends or search engine algorithm shifts that may impact rankings

   Deliver guidance and insights to internal Customer Office and external teams, including product, marketing, project management, UX/UI, content team and marketing channel managers developing new products or site pages, user journeys or site navigational elements, on how best to maximize digital experiences for optimal search engine rankings

  Review all technical and content recommendations from external agency and internal stakeholders and determine strategy and implementation plan accordingly

  Coordinate with paid search and social media marketing teams to build cost-effective search strategies to ensure strong coverage on core mission critical and striking distance keyword queries

  Evangelize the importance of SEO to product, developer, legal/compliance, marketing teams and stakeholders across Prudential business units to educate and promote the value of organic and content marketing

  Continually investigate key entry points and critical higher traffic destinations and site overall to ensure best SEO practices are in place

  Collaborate with SEO peer in the PGIM organization



Qualifications

  • 6 years SEO experience, either at an agency or in-house. 
  • Bachelors degree required.
  • Proven expertise in delivering results for a major transactional and/or content web site
  • Reliance on data to drive decision making and deliver outcomes
  • A comprehensive knowledge of organic search and how SEO activities influence search engine ranking algorithms
  • Past experience managing external vendor relationships
  • Experience in financial services, insurance, investing or retirement industries a plus
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills
  • A balance between being a team player and an ability to lead initiatives from start to finish as an individual contributor
  • A drive to learn, improve, and contribute to the team
  • Experience with Adobe or Google Analytics, Conductor, Google Search Console, DeepCrawl, SEMRush and/or Brightedge
