What youll do

You will work as part of the Project & Delivery Management Team within the Cloud Infrastructure Engineering (CIE) group, you will be part of a global team that manages and coordinates the scale of Cloud Security services. You will be responsible for driving a variety of infrastructure projects and assist in building the next generation of Cisco security architecture. You will work across engineering teams to capture the requirements and ensure that we can stay ahead of services growth for a truly global cloud platform. Cisco relies on an industry leading platform to run its SaaS service architecture, you will be key to ensuring the execution of our Data Center strategy meets the business needs. The speed at which we operate requires the ability to adjust quickly to shifting schedules and priorities, and drive globally distributed teams across multiple time zones.

Key Responsibilities include

  • Coordinating procurement, delivery and installation of infrastructure equipment across a global Datacenter footprint. 
  • Driving requirements out of our engineering functions and assisting in defining the technical specifications of our cloud infrastructure. 
  • Managing 3rd party vendors including colocation partners and Internet Service Providers. 
  • Driving highly complex migration and greenfield projects from initiation to completion. 
  • Developing demand management methodologies to improve the speed and quality of deployments. 
  • Providing stakeholder and partner updates, present status reports, run project workshops and provide key inputs to facilitate continuous improvement. 

About you

You will have spent considerable time working to support the delivery of technical engineering solutions, possibly with a direct engineering background. You will be comfortable connecting with stakeholders and customers, building requirements and driving decisions that are in the business interest. You will be a natural relationship builder able to influence and affect change without authority

  • You have a genuine interest in Cloud Technologies and underpinning architectures; 
  • Very comfortable working and presenting at executive level; 
  • You possess excellent communication skills and used to presenting data verbally and in reports; 
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role within a technology focused organization; 
  • A track record of delivering high value IT infrastructure projects with a rigorous attention to detail; 
  • Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills 
  • Excellent communication skills: able to write reports, interpret design diagrams and to present on available options 
  • A solid understanding of Data Center technologies (space, power, cooling, cabling, cabinet layout, typical network and system components); 
  • Systems Engineering or Network Engineering background with a grounding in networking and Linux systems, ideally around High Performance Computing or Cloud infrastructures. 

Desired Skills

  • Past experience in Service, Program and Project Management; 
  • Experience in planning and coordination of diverse groups; 
  • Experience of customer relationship engagement and management; 
  • Experience in varying project management methodologies; 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication (experience of working to an exec or director level).
